Bobcats shutting down Maggette for the season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) The Bobcats are shutting down forward Corey Maggette for the season.
The injury-plagued Maggette will miss the remaining 10 games due to the continued strain in his right Achilles tendon that he initially suffered on March 30 against Denver. He missed a total of four games with that injury, but returned to play in the Bobcats' last three contests in a reserve role.
Coach Paul Silas hoped Maggette would become the team's veteran leader this season, but Maggette appeared in just 32 games. He averaged 15 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in his first year in Charlotte. Maggette missed 19 games with a left hamstring injury and one with a lower back contusion earlier this year.
The Bobcats (7-49) host Detroit Thursday night.

We have five active players who would get at least 20 minutes of floor time on a playoff team. Just FIVE. Mullens needs to have a big game.

No indication one way or the other whether #Bobcats would sign someone to a 10-day contract.

Paul Silas expects Reggie Williams (knee) will play tonight. Also look for Silas to play Augustin and Walker together some vs. Pistons.

I know we would like to pretend he is not on roster already but what about Tyrus Thomas, that would make it 10, right? (without Reggie) And if not him, Gana should be ok to go (as good as it gets).

I have never heard of Walker Russel, so he will probably kill us.

I think Tyrus is out as well.

Teams have no respect for Bismack in pick and rolls. It's pretty much double the point guard, let Biz do whatever.
