Tom Sorenson says we should draft him. I think I rest my case for why we shouldn't.

unimpressed. Motors aren't everything. the highest motor players in this league are all 7th or 8th men. High motor is something you say about someone who doesn't have anything else to talk about.

Jumper looks fine here.

I actually have to say his jumper looks weird. It's like he brings it down over his face, and resets it at the peak of his jump instead of flowing into it.

I don't like that stance at all. Gives the defender time to react and go for the swat.

The Dude is 18 years old until September....
He is one of the youngest players in the draft....
Was the number one player in highschool class for most of his time....
He clearly hits jumpers, but it is not what he lives on.... Unlike Kemba and Hendo...
He would give us another great defender, another good rebounder, another ball handler, a guy who can get in the lane, get to the free throw line, get easy buckets for himself and others....
Plus he is shooting very well off the dribble in these drills which is much more difficult then catch and shooting...
His shot already looks better then it did... He will have all the time and work ethic in the world to get it better...

That hitch in his jumper isn't pretty and it's impossible to say how many shots he's actually making in this edited highlight video vs reality. Furthermore, anyone that has been to an NBA pregame shoot around will attest to the fact that even the worst in game shooters seemingly can't miss when they're out there, but once the whistle blows it's obviously a different story. If we stay at #2 I'd like to swing for the fences with someone that has more potential than Gerald Wallace as his best case scenario.

yeah. I remember like a year ago in a shootaround Rondo was making more threes than durant in a game of like, horse or something. NBA defenders make shots, even relatively open ones, more difficult! That's why they're there haha.

We could pass on MKG and just sign Tony Allen instead. Seems like the same exact thing to me.

If he's going to end up as an undersized 3 his current shooting mechanic is going in him getting blocked far too often.

Why is Gerald Wallace his ceiling.... He already does everything Crash did...
MKG is only 18 years old... Why cant he become a top 5 small forward in the league?
His ceiling could be Paul Pierce for all we know... in fact he is more athletic then Pierce....
I dont get why guys like Andre Drummond, who suck right now, can have such high ceilings when they dont display the flashes of brillance or dont have the work ethic that MKG has to make them the best player they can be...
If we think Drummond and Robinson can develop a consistent fifteen footer why cant MKG develop a consistent 3...especially when he has showed a better jumpshot in games then both of them...
I didnt see his jump shot get blocked at all this year and watched close to 10 Kentucky games....

Pierce, Granger, Deng
I think the Wallace comparison is so far off it's hysterical.

I honestly can't get a handle on MKG. I don't know if he's Corey Brewer, Gerald Wallace or Scottie Pippen. It will really come down to those one on one workouts. I would love to see how he fares against an elite NBA wing defender like Sephalosha or Kobe or Lebron. If he could at least somewhat hold his own and score I would take him number 2 but right now I'm afraid he's Tony Allen or Corey Brewer.

If he ends up being say 6'5 or 6'6 he'll have a size disadvantage at the 3 in the pros. That is a given. In college he didn't have this problem with size. In that latest workout video he seemed to release the ball right before he begins coming down as opposed to in motion with the jump. He may still avoid blocks but his shooting still needs to be overhauled.
Don't get me wrong I like him, just not with the second pick. I feel we need to draft someone who can give us more scoring. Someone who can create their own shot. Something that MKG has problems with.

I would say that in this picture he is maybe an inch shorter then Terrence Jones who is listed at 6'9'' and he towers over Doron Lamb who is listed at 6'4''...
I think he will measure somewhere between 6'6'' and 6'8'' with close to 7 foot wingspan... I think that is good enough size to play the SF especially when you consider how physical he is and his rebounding ability.

I hate trying to measure by pictures. There is ALWAYS a depth perception and angle issue. We'll just have to wait for combine and official measurements.

Watching @MikeGillie14 drain jump shot after jump shot today. If he can hit that consistently in the NBA ... Wow.
