Would You Be Interested In Dorrell Wright?

Post#1 » by radtech » Tue Jul 3, 2012 10:09 pm

Would you trade a future second rounder for Wright?

The Warriors are trying to clear some capspace to resigned either Brandon Rush or Dominic Maguire. With 3 draft picks and 9 players already with contracts, they have no space to add. Can you take all of Wright's contract and send only 2nd rounder back to complete the trade? His contract ends after the season.

With Hendo, Reggie, MKG, UPS and Taylor I just don't see where he would fit with us.

But if you are looking to create cap space to sign guys you actually want we will take him off your hands for you and allow you the spare cap space IF you send one of your future 1st round picks to us for our trouble.

Or even a decent power forward or center would be nice for a 2nd round pick trade

I would take Wright over Henderson because he can play two positions and is a better outside shooter. I'm kind of disappointed in Henderson's up and down play. Willing to give him another season but my patience is wearing thin.

Hendo is still a legit 2 way player who was our leading scorer last year. Even if he's only as good as he is last year he's better than Wright at everything except 3pt shooting.

Same here, one night he has 8 points and the next 22 points, unless he stays healthy next year, at least 75 games, or averages at least 17 points, he needs to go, Henderson, Thomas, and a 2nd round pick for a lottery pick next year. Outside of Thomas' contract that deal would be superb!!!!!

A legit two-way player brings it EVERY night, not once every three games. Usually it's one-way after three games, then we get some good two-way play maybe once every seven games. Other than that, yeah, I'd still take Wright over Henderson because of the multiple positions he can play, plus the ability to stretch the defense which Hendo does not give us.

It's time for Henderson to put up or shut up. Sick of the inconsistent play.

Come on. Henderson was pretty much a sophomore in the league last year. We all remember he was in LB's dog house for the first year and a half of his career and since then, he has dealt with injuries as well.

He'll probably see a few less minutes per game next year with Gordon, MKG, and Taylor here now, but I think he'll improve a lot this summer. He'll want to put last year behind him.

Henderson suffers from being a Duke player too. If you're not an elite PG/combo guard, your NBA-readiness takes a huge hit playing in Coach K's system. Look how long it took a stone cold winner like Battier to win a chip. ;)

This thread makes no sense to me whatsoever. Even if I thought Wright was a better player, which I don't, why would I want Wright when we just drafted MKG and Taylor? I want Taylor, in particular, doing everything Wright could do for us. Original poster said GS wants to free space to re-sign Dominic McGuire. I would much rather have McGuire as a Cat than Wright. McGuire could play PF for us. You guys keep Wright. I'll take Dom McG as a ufa.

Check the tapes, buddy, I was the ONLY one here who saw promise in Henderson after his rookie season. EVERYONE except maybe one other person (I think Jaruff, but he's clueless  ) that still wanted Hendo on the team.

I know he's been injured, but last season he didn't show me enough progress that said this guy is making legitimate strides to be a really good NBA player. Soooooooooooooo inconsistent, it's maddening. Plus, he's not a good outside shooter and that's what we're going to need at the 2 spot with MKG at the 3. In other words, if he doesn't show improvement on his jump shot like ASAP, he will either be on the bench replaced by BG, or shipped out for someone who can MAKE JUMP SHOTS.

Dorrell Wright has one year left on his deal, right? IMO he fits better than Hendo with how the team is presently constructed. But, I'm not ready to ship off Hendo just yet and won't be upset if he's still on the team. I need to see some improvement, like NOW.

I wanted his ass shipped to Maine. LB still made the right decision benching him the first year. He wasn't ready and still isn't at times.

DJ wasn't ready either and we see what being thrown into the pit did for him.

You have a short memory. DJ had a very good rookie season under LB. It was year 2 when he sh*t the bed.

EDIT:LB did not bench him, HE WAS HURT.

Yea, you're right. Not sure who I was confusing him for.
