Goran Dragic - Bobcats interested in signing him

According to Mark J. Spears of Yahoo Sports:
Bobcats making hard run at HOU free agent G Goran Dragic, source tells Y! Dragic spoke to CHA exec Rod Higgins tonight. Hou,PHX still in mix
Does this suggest that we are looking towards moving on without DJ? This can only mean that DJ will likely be receiving offers from other teams, and we will not match any of them. Either that, or we could rescind his qualifying offer.
Thoughts?

Rescinding his QO should not even be discussed.

This is already being discussed in the Free Agency thread....
I do think Dragic > DJ. Dragic is a TRUE PG. He would be a key glue player on a good team...I think.

I'm glad we're going after him. He'd be a great pickup, I've been a huge believer in him since his Phoenix days.
Dragic, Henderson, Walker, Gordon, Williams would be a killer 1-2 rotation.

no..DJ can give us 95% of the production for half the cost. Dragic wants huge money

this would give us the big point guard we've been looking for. also think dragic and kemba could play together, so it doesnt necessarily mean the end of kemba.
i still think 10 mil (reportedly what he is seeking), is way too much for him.

Seems like he is going to make a killing. Not sure if we need to get in bidding wars at this time. Pretty good player though.

From other thread:
Legion Sports @MySportsLegion
Charlotte Bobcats will offer free agent point guard Goran Dragic a contract, per source, likely in the $9 mil per year range.
I don't think he is worth 9 million. I do think Dragic is a true PG and would be a key part to a good team. Every good team needs a PG who can get the offense started, Dragic can do that. He's a very underrated passer. I think he would really do wonders for Biz and would get guys in the right places. I also think that this is a kind of deal DJ thinks he is worth, perhaps is even what the Bobcats offered him during the season. For the record, if your talking about the ability to run a team as the PG, Dragic > DJ.
My only concern, does this kind of signing of Dragic put us back on the mediocre treadmill? Dragic is already 26, keep in mind.

Good riddance to She-J.

Like y'all couldn't see that one coming since last summer.
Dragic works for me!

I think another team will outbid us.
I can see him in Phoenix unless there is bad blood after his trade.

so 4 years 36 million?
i assume we would renounced dj to make this offer. i also assume the rockets match. then we will scramble to find another point guard.
still does nothing to address the glaring hole we have at power forward.
maybe we can sign and trade dj to the suns for robin lopez (sign and trade) is that possible?

Doubt it.
Biyombo|Diop
Mullens|TT
MKG|Taylor
Hendo|Gordon
Dragic|Walker
That lineup is still very young and unlikely to win more than say 25 games.
fats, I think Dragic is an UFA.

Gragic at anything more than $6-$7 mil a year would be a joke.

I think the Raps are going to be pretty desperate after losing out on Nash. BC is on the hot seat. I could see him going after Dragic hard.

I don't think Dragic at 9 million is a joke. I would prefer 7-8, obviously, but based on the rumored interest in Dragic around the league it shows he is worth money. The guy is a very good PG who would be an asset to this team. A definite upgrade over DJ. I would love to see Dragic running the pick and roll with Biz.

This signing (if ever it will be consummated) won't make sense to me until we ship out DJA.
And I thought the FO will first address our hole at the 4-spot. SMH.

Dragic stats are very lackluster...the only real thing he has going is that he is 6'4 and at 9 mil per? Man that hurts....ugh

For 20+ games last season, he averaged 18 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds, and shot 49% from the field as a starter. Wouldn't be surprised to see him do that here seeing as how we lack a go to scorer.
