Will 'Cats amnesty?

After seeing Philly amnesty Elton Brand, I wondered if/when the 'Cats will use their amnesty?
So will it be used this summer or next?

The only way the Cats amnesty is if there is a FA they want to free up cap space for. That person would have to be pretty special or share a birthday with MJ's mother or something. MJ's not a fan of wasting money, he'd rather let bums rot on the bench.

pretty much what brother dave said - we have some cap space w/out using the amnesty. the only way we use it is if we need to sign a player that would use more than our cap space. at this point, considering the only player we are linked to is jamison, i cant see is needing to use it this summer. i think we would renounce the QO to augustin before we would use the amnesty, but thats just a guess.

The amnesty clause is basically an "asset". Much like the other two said, no need to use it unless you absolutely have something else that is more of an "asset" to this franchise. For us, that likely won't be until 2 years from now. Until then, the amnesty clause will continue to be an asset that could allow us to become active in Free Agency, or even in a Trade at some point in the coming years.
We all know how much MJ hates to pay guys for doing nothing, so I doubt we see it used on a guy like Thomas who has multiple years left. If we use it my guess it will be on Thomas but not until his final year on his deal.

Or have the last name Jordan, Higgins, Cho, Dunlap or Whitfield.

If the Bobcats amnesty, it will be decidedly Cho.

Perhaps as a cheerleader waving towels from the bench. He's pretty good at that role.

Sure, somebody foolish would bid at least minimum, you know this league, don't you? So we would get that sum back.

I actually think there's a chance he could come back somewhat productive this season. He has apparently been working hard back home and put on 20 pounds. Last year was just bad all around for him. He came in incredible skinny, and the shortened season really didn't help. Then he was forced to play out of position for stretches and was hurt.
With a new year, I think he could come back and show once again he is a 10 and 5 energy guy off the bench. He wouldn't be worth his contract, but at least that is moveable or worth just keeping and riding it out. He's one of the guys I'm kind of interested to see with this new coach and see if he has made any improvements. I may be getting my hopes up and putting too much stock in Thomas being able to be committed on his own, but I'm optimistic.

If the story is true and TT has added 20 lbs then he could be a 12/6/2 guy off the bench.
I am hoping Gordan comes off bench also and Hendo continues to improve and start. Looks like no takers for RFA DJA and we might have a chance at Jamison. If so our lineups could look like:
KW DJA RWILL
Hendo BG Carroll
MKG AJ JT
Mully,TT, DJW
BIZ, UPS, Diop
Paired with the UPS,AJ, BG and DJA our second unit should be able to put up allot of bench points. And rotating RWILL and JT and DJW in with the first unit should add even more points.

Unless Tyrus puts up 20/5/10 next season I could see him being our candidate, but not this year. No team would put in a bid for him which means we would have to pay 26 million dollars for him to join the Heat, Celtics or lakers. I think he would be a 12/3/8 player next season and that is at least worth 3 million a year off the amnesty wire.

Maybe TT will have a productive year and at least increase his worth. It's not worth amnestying him as others have said because we won't be able to use the money we save now.
