New Bobcats fan here

Hey fellas, I'm not a huge NBA guy but what I am is a Kentucky Wildcats fan. Now that you guys got my boy MKG, I'm officially on the Bobcats bandwagon for better or for worse. Strongly considering purchasing the NBA League Pass and watching the Bobcats night in and night out to watch him play. I also got to see quite a bit of Jeffrey Taylor in college and that guy has a lot of game as well (as you guys probably know after seeing him in his SL games).

I need an NBA team, and I think this is a good chance for me to hitch my wagon to someone. The Bobcats were obviously historically bad last year so I can't wait to see MKG and the team grow together and improve together. I'm telling you guys, you're going to absolutely fall in love with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. The terms, heart, motor, work ethic, hates to lose, etc ... get tossed around far too frequently, but MKG is the guy these terms were created for. I only had a chance to watch him play one year of college basketball (been an avid college basketball fan for 20+ years) and he is one of my favorite players ever. That has to tell you guys something about how much he brings to the table and how likable he is, not to mention his game. Holy smokes. Never, ever have I seen a player at Kentucky so devastating in transition. Not John Wall, no one. MKG took so many balls coast to coast and got to the rim at will. I know the NBA game is tougher, athletes are bigger and faster, but MKG is going to be an impact player immediately. I can't wait to see him get started with the Bobcats. I'm telling you guys right now, you made the right pick. Anyone here who was even halfway questioning why you guys selected MKG instead of Thomas Robinson ... you won't be disappointed.

Anyway, just introducing myself. I'm jumping on the Bobcats bandwagon simply because of MKG but plan on staying on board (as long as he's the face of the franchise at least). This guy is a flat out winner and you're all going to love him. Now excuse me while I let go of his sack.

Good to have you here STL Cat. Hope to see you posting.

You might be right about firing up the "pleased to meet you" thread Fats. Maybe next week after SL is done?

I think Rich Cho did a good job building the Bobcats from ground up so far. It will another tough year, but if the Bobcats is lucky enough to land Shabuzz Muhammad, the Bobcats will be a really good team in 2 years.

Walker / Muhammad / MKG / ??? / Biyombo would make a good starting five.

Hi STL Cat...welsome to the board! Are you living in the St. Louis area? I am a resident of the area, although born & raised in NC and a Hornets fan from the birth of that team. Transferred to MO in 1999.

I'm glad to hear of your zeal for MKG. I was not a proponent of drafting him, and was concerned about his fit at the pro level (particularly about his jump shot). Still concerned about that, but from all the witness I've heard and his lone SL game, I was impressed. I will be glad to eat lots of crow should he turn out to be a star!!
