I saw it as well. Pretty cool. A very well done commercial that really captures everything, and capitalizes on the Olympic interest right now.

My bet is that people will watch this and say, "why did MJ make up a fictitious team called the Cats?" "Why didn't he just use a real NBA team?". Just saying, I"m sure very view know we changed our uni's.

We will be Hornets by 2030, but still a cool commercial!

Can someone break down it because I'm confused. So is the black boy suppose to keep losing to the chinese boy and then rise above to win the championship?

They're just competing with each other. It's two boys who take inspiration from the Olympics and use that inspiration to reach greatness on their own.

Both signed with big name college
Both played in the NCAA Championship
Likely went 1/2 in the draft
Asian guy got first overall pick and ROY
Black guy got Finals MVP
Both played for their National Teams in the Olympics

Wow, that is a great commercial. The fact that it's the Bobcats winning the title is a funny throw-in, too.

What does the Lakers in 5 years have to do with the 2029 championship team? By 2029 Charlotte could very well have become a major market. We are talking about 16 years in the future with Charlotte growing rapidly, and many other cities declining.

I love the bobcats, but this **** is ridiculous..my point is they will reload with the best players every 5 years... Our team,, along with most of the other small markets are basically the minor leagues for the major markets, only difference is that we play games against them.

I'm telling you guys who disagreed with my idea of assembling a 1st-2nd round playoff team and hope we steal a chip, that is the best we can do...why build through the draft when we question whether its rigged or not ? If we do build a good team, some idiot GM on another team will trade their best player to a powerhouse and make it more impossible for anyone else to win..Major markets RUN the league..stern is trying to cash in on the global dollars, make it a league where 2-3 teams win all of the championships. he's trying to build global brands instead of competitive leagues. He wants to have Manchester United, Real Madrid, New York Yankees here in the NBA.

I get what you are trying to say. You just seem to forget that your opinion is just that. Of course Stern wants mega franchises, but to say that he only wants one or two is streching. The smart thing would be to make all of your franchises monsters, or at least as many as possible. I cant't imagine that Stern actually wants most of his franchises to flounder along and eventually fold. That doesn't make since. When the Hornets were in Charlotte they were the highest selling brand in the league. Stern knows that. The lottery is not rigged. We just haven't won it yet. Guess what neither has Phoenix, and they have been in the league a lot longer than we have.

and the hornets were a 1st-2nd round playoff team...see what I mean.

george shinn messed that up. ppl took that anger out for him on the team...fell from selling out 350 str8 games to 11th in attendance despite the same level of success throughout...
