:o :o :-? :-? Do we wait until after camp to make a move or should we consider filling our roster now?
Houston has 21 players in camp now and some extra young players with 1-2 year contracts. Would we be interested in offering Carrolls expiring contract to pickup some of these younger players?
Trade Checker 6139225 Patterason,Simpson, Smith for Carroll. Houston dumps contracts/players 3 for 1 and picks up expiring contract. We get some solid young bench players and still have Williams/ Diop expiring contracts.

That's actually not a bad idea if they'd go for it. Maybe not Patterson because he's too good but I'd take three guys no one's ever heard of for Carroll.

They are not trading Patterson in a dump trade. Matt Carroll is a free agent everywhere I look.

It's just hard to believe that he'd not opt in...

I think Charlotte needs to consider something like BJ Mullens and DeSagana Diop for Glen Davis and a pick. Get yourselves a low post offensive threat to balance out the front court and take advantage of the Orlando fire sale to come.

Matt may be mulling retirement.

No way Orlando does that. Glen is by far their best post player. He is better than BJ and Diop, AND you want them to give up a pick as well?

^ Carroll would be a fool to retire. Why forgo $3.5 million for a final year of doing nothing more than riding the bench.

Unless we've offered to pay him his $3.5 mill to be part of the coaching staff or something.
:dontknow:

:o :-? :D  Forget Big Baby..Too expensive...Some of these NBA teams overloaded their rosters with players trying to get into the Dwight Howard sweepstakes. Some very good young talent is going to be out there from now until November. A 3 for 1 with Carrolls expiring gives them something vus waving them and getting 0. Houston wants to keep all 3 of their 2012 draft picks anyway.
And you might be suprised what Houston may offer to get something for players they are going to waive
anyway. Then other than Diop our Bench gets allotdeeper/ better.

I've been coming up with some amazing Cho puns lately but am drawing a blank right now. I would kinda like to see us keep these spots open, see who does well for teams during camps/preseason and make a move then OR finally use the NBADL to reserve the rights to some players like the Spurs have a knack for doing.

This feels absurd to write, but looking at the roster, there isn't a hole right now from the team dynamic perspective. Obviously, we need more talent still, but I mean, that's not going to be fixed with two development players. Big guard that can play defense and do some playmaking not related to someone in management?
