Bobcats heavily shopping forward Tyrus Thomas, sources confirm Bobcats "are legitimately calling every team."
I guess the front office still does not like what they see in Thomas. After hearing that he gained some weight in the offseason, I was hoping he was going to come into camp with new energy and look like the Tyrus Thomas of old when we first aquired him. This version of Thomas could have easily unseaten Byron Mullens at the starting PF spot, due to Mullens weaker defensive play. Hopefully, we can make a deal and acquire another PF that the Bobcats feel can contribute more than Thomas. At this point, I highly doubt any team would be willing to give up a first round pick for him. I don't think second round picks are what we are looking for now either. So likely scenarios would pobably have us trading Tyrus for other players.

I hope we don't give up a pick. I'd accept losing a 2nd rounder and getting a reasonably decent player and contract back but I'd rather eat his contract than lose a first.

I think you thought I was talking about giving up a first and Tyrus for a player in return. I was saying that teams probably don't want to trade a first for Tyrus.

We already know that. I'm just saying we shouldn't give up a pick to get rid of him.

ha ha, calling "legitimately calling every team" sounds so desperate. They should attach Tyrus's part of my "Lolcats 2011/12 season highlights", that oughta help.

Honestly he still does one thing well, which is block shots. Even if he does everything else poorly, there are teams that don't have enough of that and would like some more.

Maybe this is last calls before an amnesty?
Tyrus' contract is going to make any trade hard without bringing long term junk back. But there is reason to hold out hope. The Magette for Gordon and a first was such a great trade. just gotta hope cho pulls out another one.

Bogus report, I don't see it anywhere else online and I have already warned you all that this is not a reliable site.

The only stories I can find in relation to Tyrus mention how we hope that Dunlap can help Tyrus, but hint we would still like to move him.
Tyrus Thomas – Charlotte Bobcats
The Charlotte Bobcats would love to get out of the Tyrus Thomas business. To say it has gone bad in Charlotte between the team and the player is an understatement.
Sources close to the process say the team hopes new head Coach Mike Dunlap can reach Tyrus in a way that Paul Silas couldn’t, but the truth of the matter is that Tyrus is not in the long-term plan. If the Bobcats can find anyone who’d take him, they’d trade Tyrus tomorrow.
The problem with moving Tyrus is that he’s had some stomach related issues that’s caused him to struggle keeping weight on. Combine that with a poor attitude and a history of run-ins with coaches and that’s a tough sell. Tyrus is half the player he was when Charlotte overpaid him and with three years and some $26 million left on his deal, he may be unmovable. If this summer taught us anything, it’s that even the worst contracts can be moved, so look for the Bobcats to try and find a new home for Thomas, especially if he shows any signs of improvement as a player.

A lot of teams would love athletic shot blocking player like Tyrus. Problem is no one in their right mind is going to give him 8 million a year just for that.

Whether this story is true or not, unless Cho is a genius,we are stuck with TT's contract, attitude, and now stomach problems. I wouldn't be surprised the poor guys got ulcers with the way he has been trashed by the media and fans. I was surprised that Augustine and TT wern't shopped together for an older veterans bloated contract. Now looks like its too late and we are stuck with him. Amensitying him next year, along with Diop, Carroll, and Willliams expiring should give us the cap space we need to sign a solid free agent. Also top 5 draft pick after this coming season should help.. we need to pickup a power forward and another pointguard from players released after preseason this October.. I beleive that TT has figured out that we will amenisty him after this season. Hopefully he will come to camp with the idea of giving us 10/10/2 20mpg and then atrade may take place before this season ends thats a win/win for both of us.

If I am not mistaken last Feb. when all of the rumours were circulating I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the price for DJ was that a team had to take TT, Magette, or Diop. If that was the case they were shopped together. I seriously doubt anyway that Tyrus's name didn't come up anytime Cho was talking trades with other teams.
I also know that I read that Mike has no intention of paying anyone to not play. That would actually explain why we are shopping him so hard.

Ok so Mj either wants TT to play,or be gone. No amensity,I guess because money is tight?
So if we are shopping TT so hard,Who in the world would take on his 8 mil a year contract for 3 years

?
And now He's gained weight and has "Tummy Troubles". Sounds like Diaw all over again. only much worse..

Guess We can issue him BarfBags and sit him down next to MJ?

I imagine that the only teams that would consider taking him on would be the elite teams that can eat his contract and sporadically use his shot blocking. I kind of hope that we don't trade him. I can't imagine that we are going to like the trade that takes Tyrus out of Charlotte before 2014.

The only reasonable chance the 'Cats had to move Thomas IMO was to deal him during draft day along w/ the #2 pick.
There were several scenarios talked about in which the 'Cats would move down & lose Thomas. Granted you would of most likely missed out on MKG but you still would of received a lotto pick & cap relief.

I'm glad we went with MKG instead of someone like T-Rob and moving Thomas

I don't know why you say that. Worst contracts than Tyrus's get moved every year. That was an opportunity we turned down, but he can be moved. It is only a matter of how bad the Bobcats want to move him.
