he did nothing last year, in summer league or this year in preseason to show that he can play at this level.
6'5" point guard/shooting guard, undrafted, 1 year experience, colorado university
2010-11 colorado university
38 games, 32mpg, 16.1ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.5apg, 43.4% fg
2011-12 stats
38 games, 11mpg, 3.9ppg, 1rpg, 1apg, 32.5% fg
2012 summer league stats
5 games, 23.6mpg, 9.8ppg, 3pg, 1.8apg, 35.3% fg
2012-13 preseason stats
4 games, 12mpg, 2.8ppg, 1rpg, 1asg, 30.9% fg
but perhaps the most important stat of all, he is the son of president of bball ops rod higgins.
so will higgins be cut to make room for possibly signing a player who was in camp with another team or to keep roster open for adding d-league players on 10 day contracts?
will higgins make the roster because he earned the spot with his rumored hard work over the summer and seemingly pleasant personality?
will higgins make the roster because his dad doesn't have the balls to cut him?

Andrew Goudelock and Garret Temple are both better than Higgins. Too bad their dad isn't GM. Both are available.

If it takes 2 years of Cory Higgins clinging onto the roster like mold to open MJ's eyes and fire Rod then so be it.

i voted "no - he will be cut". i just want to have faith that our front office is past nepotism in the face all the criticism from the past year.

The 15th spot is reserved...for none other than the currently injured & undrafted PG out of Syracuse University, Scoop Jardine

yep, he'll keep it just because of his father. now that you posted his stats, I'm even more angrier because I thought that at least his college stats were better. come on, 16/3/2 on a poor percentage for university of Colorado!?!?

i fired a tweet a bonnell daring him to ask the Bobcats on why he keeps a spot.
I think he will just ignore me, I can't see him provoking them with a question.

If we have to take a backup from Colorado, I'd rather have Carlon Brown. He was one of the more impressive players for us during SL

i was going to suggest someone tweet bonnell and ask him about his thoughts on higgins making the roster. was it deserved or suspicious?

final cuts are due by 5PM on monday, so i guess its possible we may add 1 or 2 players who have been recently waived and cut higgins in the process.
at the very least, if he does make the team, he needs to spend part of the year in the d-league.

Well, I wouldn't bother much (I actually voted he is good to keep for being a good teammate as he is going to be buried on injury list, not dressed for games) but the thing they just cut the other two while keeping him (for now) screams poor taste. Well, we don't pay the bills but still.

I keep hoping to see "Bobcats claim so and so and cut Higgins to create a spot"
The Lakers Andrew Goudelock or Terrance Williams are two players I thought would be the "so and so".

Houston has to cut at least five players after last night's deal.
Jeremy Lin / Scott Machado / Shaun Livingston / Toney Douglas
James Harden / Daequan Cook
Chandler Parsons / Carlos Delfino / Terrence Jones / Gary Forbes / Lazar Hayward
Patrick Patterson / Royce White / Marcus Morris / JaJuan Johnson
Omer Asik / Cole Aldrich / Donatas Motiejunas / Jon Brockman / Greg Smith
My guess is that Smith, Machado, Brockman, Hayward, Johnson, and possibly Forbes get waived. I would take every single one of them over Higgins.
