How randomly cool is this story?
Ben Folds is from North Carolina. His drummer, Darren Jessie, is from Charlotte and went to East Meck High School back in the 80s.
This is one of my favorite bands from the 90s and they recently reunited for the first time in over a decade. They released a new album about a month ago, so this is obviously, at least in part, a publicity stunt, but its a cool one, featuring one of my favorite bands, that just happens to have local ties and our Bobcats.
The article jokes they should play the song "Song for the Dumped" at games, but i was thinking "The Battle of Who Could Care Less" would be more appropriate. Or perhaps #workharder's favorite song "Brink".

Bobcats fever is spreading, so much so that no less than alt-rock piano maestro Ben Folds wants to get his band (he and the two other original members of the Five reunited last year) in on the action:
