TT Vus BIZ Bobcats next trade?

Post#1 » by BobsBuddy » Thu Nov 15, 2012 4:08 pm

:o :o :-? :-? For about a year now many of us have called for Thomas to be traded, yet when shopped there is no NBA team that wants him. Even combining Hendo with him doesn't seem to create any interest without including a draft pick. If you look at our4-3 record and think about which bench players have stepped up it's Sessions, Gordon, Taylor, and Tyrus Thomas. MPG have increased for these guys vus Biz's MPG that is dropping from a season ago.

It's my observation that TT seems to play better for Dunlap than any previous coach and his stats continue to prove it. Because of his enormous contract I believe that Dunlap is trying to actually bring TT back to what the organization wants for their money.
We now have a glut at 4 and no true backup center for Haywood except Diop. Even though Warrick is 30 years old he is a savoy NBA vet and averages 20 minutes 9 ppg and 4 rpg. I suspect he will split minutes with TT.

Biz is better off suited for a fast paced offensive team like Houston . I wouldn't be surprised a trade could happen. I believe our first choice should be:

Trade checker 6158111 Biz for Houston's Cole Alridge and maybe a stoclpiled future draft pick. This fills the backup center void with a young 23 year old "pure center" who was outstanding in college and after draft stuck behind other centers at OKC (where Cho knew him). Biz goes to a team that needs defensive presence in paint.

Our lineup then is
Kw, RSess,Hig
Hendo,Gordon, RWill
MKG,Taylor
Mully,TT, HWar
BHay,Aldridge,Diop
The second team looks allot better and parts are interchangable. TT still blocks shots at 4 and with increased minutes Aldridge does nothing but get better...Plus he is free agent after this season and if he doesn't work we let him walk freeing up 8.1 mil

Although I was high on Aldrich before he was drafted, he has disappointed me so far in the NBA and I really don't think he'll ever amount to anything more than a big off the bench. For as raw as Biz is, I still believe he oozes with potential and I hope we stick with him

It is way to early to give up on Biz, but the way things are flowing right now I can see Hendo and Biz both hitting the door really soon in a deal for a difference maker like David West, or Paul Milsap.

Trade an unpolished 20 year old big man 7 games into his 2nd NBA season. How could that possibly go wrong? oh and we're doing this because Tyrus Thomas "seems to play better for Dunlap". Even though his averages are on par with his career averages. Other then rebounding (below his career average) and FG% (below his career average).

I really hope not. A guy like David West might make us a little too good to tank properly and place us back in that NBA purgatory that we have ever so desperately been trying to get out of

a "little" too good? David West is the difference between a first round exit and the WCF for the Pacers this year. He's one of their best three players and would instantly be our best player until one of our young guys surpassed him.

no offense dude. I like you as a poster, but you really make terrible trades. My expectation of Biz have decreased a bit, but I'd never trade him for Aldrich

Didn't even read the part about the trade being
Biz for Houston's *Cole Alridge and maybe a **stoclpiled future draft pick.
*Cole Aldrich **stockpiled <which actually doesn't really fit here, but whatever.

I would trade then Diop for Aldrich and Daequan Cook, but I don't think they would. Cole is bad. Mullens at least had some upside that hes kind of showing. Cole has a ceiling of "eric montross".

:D :o :-? Ok If this isn't the trade then if Biz goes out with Hendo just who do we get back that works in trade checker? We need a pure backup center vus another athletic freak on the bench sitting next to TT our 6 million $ man. If we get a future pick included it might be worth the chance. Coles College stats were outstanding. AND Cho knows him AND He = 9.7 expiring contract end of this season if he doesn't work out. Then we fill with FA Center or Draft pick. With Biz 3 year contract gone we have more FA money available.
ps..Fred I like your posts too...but I'm throwing out there trades that might get Cho and Dunlap thinking about the mix of our roster. I agree many or some of my trade may be crazy, but it gets experienced posters like you to sound off. My objective is to get as many ideas out there so the Bobcats are a fine oiled machine using all talent.

Biz has played man his entire life. Of course he isn't going to look better in a zone. By the way, he's 20.

Tyrus is a certified clown. 3 good games from him suddenly isn't going to justify his contract.

Its a long season. Pace yourself.

I think that you guys are a little misguided about what our purgatory was that we needed to escape. Our two best players were both late twenties and slightly above average. We had no cap flexibility to sign an impact free agent. That meant a treadmill of early playoff exits or late low impact lottery picks. That is what we were trying to escape. That is not at all the case now. None of our best players are over twenty five, and have plenty room to grow. We have loads of cap flexibility to sign a free agent or make an impact trade.

The simple fact is that we can't keep depending on hitting gold in the lottery forever. Sooner or later we are going to have to sign an impact free agent, because of exactly what seems to be happening now. Our young players maturing and starting to win due to gaining experience and chemistry. If our guys win thirty games this season our chances of hitting gold in the lottery drop dramatically. What then? We sign or trade for an impact player.

I agree MountBiyombo, however I believe we are one draft away from seriously competing. If we could grab another high draft pick and get a quality player like Zeller or Muhammad, then I am all for using our immense cap space. Finally, the future is bright for us Bobcat fans.

yeah if we can do well in the draft once more, we could have 4 great players on rookie contracts.

Some of us (ok, all of us) overrate our players, but you are going the other extreme and turning Bismack Biyombo into COLE ALDRICH.
