3 Trades to Think About.

Post#1 » by BobsBuddy » Mon Nov 19, 2012 4:25 pm

:o :o :-? :-?

1. Trade checker 6160323 Diop/Biz traded for Detroit's Villanueva/Drummond.
Why for Detroit...Diops 0 expiring and Villanueva 1 more on contract , playing no minutes. Drummond 4 years contract limited behind Monroe at 5 and Biz give Pistons Defense shot blocker at backup center + more mpg.
Why fo Charlotte... Diops spot filled with Drummond to learn from and backup Heywood. Villanueva and TT backup Mully at 4. After next season Villanuevas contract expires and if Mully continues to improve use $ to sign him to long term deal. TT's contract is expiring the season after that and will then be an attractive trade.
At the same time Drummond is getting better and more minutes and starts ahead of Heywood in 2014.

2.Trade checker 6160319 Diop/Hendo/Biz traded for Washington's Okafore/Crawford.
Why for Washington..Diops expiring conract vus Okafore one more year.. Biz at 5 and Hendo at 3 provide younger core with Beal and Wall and is much better than players they have currently.. 0-8 record..
Why for Charlotte...Okafore with Heywood at center provides more points in paint. We still draft/acquire FA center in 2013 and Okafore contract then expires. Crawford has upside and provides 3rd 2 guard developing behind Taylor + Gordon mentors him.

3.Trade checker Diop/Henderson/Portlands protected 1st round pick obtained in GW trade for Kanter/Burks/Bell
Why for Utah... Frees up lots of money under the cap after this season by shedding 2 Burks/Kanter 3 year contracts. With their own expiring contracts +Diops They can buy whatever free agent team they want and replace one of their starters wih Henderson at 2 or 3 and still have $ to resign him later. With Portlands pick they can stockpile it for 2014/2015 if Portland finishs above 12th in the 2013 lottery.
Why for Charlotte...Burks/Taylor would start at 2 and Gordon off the bench and we still have Raja Bell (contractexpiring)as our 13th man. Kanter is our starting center wih Haywood backing him up.and we still have Mully,TT, Biz at 4. Yes both Burks ad Kanter have 3 year contacts but our team of the future would be already built

Your Thoughts about these 3 trade options please?

1. Detroit wouldn't do it. Drummond is a better project than Biz
2. No
3. Hell no

1. No way Detroit does this... they love Drummond and his potential up there. There's a reason why you want him.

2. Ummm... no. Okafor and his contract, plus we give up Hendo AND Biz for Crawford. No thanks.

3. Meh, not high on Enis, and really not high on giving up on a 1st round pick with Cho running the helm. I see you working to try and get something for Diop's expiring, and giving up on Biz, but I just don't think his value is high enough to get back the kind of player that we would want. It is much more value to try and develop him, because we won't get any sort of value for him now.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

I would likely do the 1st trade, but Detroit would not. I would pass on #2 and #3.

Are you sure you're a Bobcats fan? These are horrible for us (except the first one)

Next year I see the trade being Gordon+Portland first for Okafor+Singleton.

Don't worry about Drummond being stuck behind Monroe. I am sure that the Piston's front office is chomping at the bit to give Drummond Maxiell's minutes as soon as the coaching staff feels he is ready.

anyone who actually thinks Detroit would accept that is a complete idiot

the guy who thinks we need a pick from Detroit in that deal is an even bigger idiot

Drummond has more trade value than any single player on the Bobcats other than MKG

Detroit wouldn't trade Stuckey for the #5 pick. They aren't letting Drummond go for anything less than Jesus Christ. They would seriously turn down Anthony Davis for Drummond... no joke

Nice to meet you, don't come back. You have Dumars as a GM, he can pull anything and we shouldn't settle for less.

these trades in this thread are ridiculous and serve no purpose except causing people to get pissed off.

from now on, lets use the dedicated trade thread for any make-believe threads. only start a new thread if a trade is a rumor that is being discussed in the media or a real trade that has been executed.

thanks.
