The New Orleans Hornets have waived guard Matt Carroll.

The Hornets acquired Carroll on November 13 from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for forward Hakim Warrick.

That is very strange...more strange than the trade itself, which I thought was one-sided despite Warrick's lack of playing time. They could have just as easily waived Hakiem.

I think they saved 500k doing it this way.

Was probably all planned out in the first place, this way Carroll stays with his family.

^ Sachmo's on the $. The Hornet's probably would have ended up waiving Warrick just the same had this deal not been consumated. However, being able to acquire/waive Carroll in his place saved them a cool half-mil.

Been rumored for days, Im surprised it took this long.

I hope there's a place for Matt Carroll in the Bobcats organization.
