I think we get this win. Avery Johnson's coaching wasn't the root of their problems, Deron Williams' decline in play was. Our losing streak ends tomorrow.

I'm with fats on this. Teams that fire their coaches almost always play better and with more fire the next couple games. We just have to wait for the NOLA game.

Things just got interesting for this game. I too see the Nets playing with great energy for this game. What I want to look at is how Kemba fare defensively against a big guard like Deron Williams.

I hope the coach killer is still out tomorrow.

I expect Kemba to beat Deron off the dribble and have a 20 point game off those mid-range jumpers after pick-n-rolls or simple penetration. Williams is not among the best defensive players and Kemba should abuse him with his speed.

As for our chances of winning, I do think that we could be capable of winning this Brooklyn team, however, as it was said above - teams usually do win their first games after a head coach has been canned.

Whan as **** Deron is though.

Crying about the fact that it was easier for him to play under Jerry Sloan's system when it's the same coach he rode out of town after him being there for ages. He's probably earned the starting spot for the active players I don't like with those moves.

OT: what would be your all-current-player-dislike team?

mine is something like (starters based on dislike level):

pg: paul / deron
sg: wade / iso joe
sf: granger / lebron
pf: griffin / bosh
c: howard / bynum

Granger? Why Granger?

PG: Deron / Calderon
SG: Wade / That's it, just Wade.
SF: Baby Bron Bron / Battier the last two years / Matt Barnes
PF: I can't think of a PF I don't like
C: Tyson Chandler / Howard (those damn elbows)

Guys notably off the list: Bosh, him going to Miami was appropriate, seemed fit for his skill level and he clearly wasn't the mastermind or any such silly thing. Kobe, I like Kobe and he's immensely entertaining. KG, I like KG and his intensity isn't annoying like Wade's "intense groin shots".

my team is almost exactly the same

PG: Deron
SG: Wade
SF: LeBron
PF: Griffin
C: Howard

although I have to say that the hate in me has died a bit during the last years. Out of these guys I only genuinely hate Wade. I don't know what's wrong with me, but even LeBron doesn't seem to be that bad of a guy lately. I've become too soft...

granger injured crash back in the day and has several times made remarks belittling the bobcats and crash (when he was here).

We're +400 for this game, seems a bit too high considering the way the Nets have been playing.

Guess I just have thicker skin and a shorter memory

Am I the only one who hates Kobe??? He's number one on my dislike list.

PG:
SG: Bryant, Wade
SF: LeBron
PF: KG, Bosh,
C: Howard

What I can't stand the most are superstar guys who get all the calls but then STILL complain all the time about not getting calls. And many of these guys screwed over their teams/fanbases at some point.

Chandler ticks me off because he didn't do squat when he was here, then became a defensive star elsewhere, but I don't really hate him. I don't care for Chris Paul, but it's not anywhere near on the level of the other guys on my list, so I'm not putting him up there.

First off, I am/was (hard to tell, but I hate that Dwight has joined the team) a Lakers fan, so I'm a biased person when talking about Kobe. However, I can say that I have a love/hate relationship with him. I'd like to think that if I were a random NBA fan, I would be annoyed by the "Kobe" things he does, however, they would be singled out by his work ethic and love for the game. Say what you want about Kobe, but as a basketball fan I have to admire his passion.

I'll probably watch this one live, by the way. No reason for me not to stay up the hour and a half, since I haven't been active on a GT for some time now.

I was debating watching this game but I think I will now. So much better with a good GT, and away games mean our posting fanbase will likely be at home instead of at the arena

i dont really have a beef with kobe. he's in the middle for me. he's a bit of a diva and a prick but as far as superstars go. but i like that he doesnt kiss the ass of lebron/wade and the rest of the superfriends like all the young superstars do. when team USA gets together and its crunch time, i always want kobe, durant or melo to be the guy who takes over, not wade or lebron. i like that he is 100% about basketball all the time and not out there pimping himself to create some mega brand like lebron and others. i like the fact that he would probably kill a relative if it got him closer to winning another ring.

my favorites among the "stars" (loosely defined)

pg: nash/parker/rondo (curry if he counts)
sg: manu
sf: durant/melo
pf: dirk/love/randolph
c: m gasol/duncan/garnett

im pretty much indifferent about: kobe, pierce, westbrook, aldridge, gay, rose, harden,

Manu, Rondo, Dirk, and Garnett are all really special players that I admire.
