I like his size and I like his offense. That is it.

Would consider drafting him if we were to trade down.

Jennifer Lopez probably boxes out better.

He's a late lottery guy to me. Plays kind of like a homeless man's Pau Gasol, very finesse oriented, likes to shoot midrange J's. He does have fairly good awareness, good hands, and better athlete than he looks. Consistency is a big problem, fades in and out of games a lot. Part of that can be chalked up to his teammates forgetting about him (Dez Wells likes to play hero ball). His biggest knock is that he gets pushed around constantly. If he could bulk up some more and improve his footwork and offensive repertoire, he'd be a decent complement to Biz in Hi-Lo sets.

Here's some Maryland fans' thread about him: http://maryland.247sports.com/Board/53/I-predict-Len-will-NOT-get-chosen-as-a-lottery-pick-17379599/1

BD - his foot prognosis aside, how many of Len's issues do you feasibly see improving with maturity, experience, some amount of improvement in strength and mental focus?

I think he's a bit like Meyers Leonard in that regard. I think he'll figure it out but it will take a couple of years, he's not as NBA ready as some people are touting. His game might translate better with more space to operate but it depends on how quickly he can adjust to the faster pace. He's not slow but I wouldn't call him quick either. His floor is something like Primoz Brezec or Nenad Krstic, a guy that likes to float out to the perimeter, pick and pop, occasionally post up.

I hate he's injured, I would have loved to hear or see if he had much of a low post game in the workouts. He can post up a bit with his size and his good touch but he's not a Tim Duncan by any means from what I've seen.

I am curious about his bbiq. He seems like Mully
2.0. But Mully w/a high bbiq is an allstar.

very lopez like but dont know if he is even as talented. he does have some nice post moves and a nice jump shot, but he has to get strong and big and even after eating 6000 calories a day all last season he doesnt seem to be put on a lot of weight. i wanted len to stay in school another season because he is just not ready

I like Len's game combined with his size but I'm hoping we land at least a borderline all-star caliber player with this pick and I don't see him becoming anything more than serviceable at his peak. I can't even picture him averaging more than slightly over 20 minutes in his rookie year if that. Len will be a half-and-half project in the NBA for the next 5 years.

Simply put I lean Len because I see him having good upside and he is a compliment to Biz, and eventually we need some height and scoring. He fits the bill with both. The problem with that is that we have no players worthy of drafting players that compliment one another. All our positions should be open season (Kemba included)

DraftExpress has us taking him at #4 in their mock that just came out. I don't really like it but you do draft on potential so who knows, I would much rather wait on McGary or WCS though.

I like Len. But if we pick him with Olidipo, McLemore or Bennet still on the board I will sh*t a brick.

I probably come off as a Len hater but he's not that bad. I just don't like his style of play and feel he's being falsely credited with attributes like rebounding, post defense, and to a lesser extent athleticism. I'm just tired of pick & pop bigs that can't bang in the paint (thanks Mully). I think the "his guards were lousy at getting him the ball" argument is a bit exaggerated b/c I watched a lot of Maryland and Len really struggles with holding his position and making himself available for post entry passes. It would be nice to have one guy on the roster that can move people around.

I think Len is a decent player for a late lottery pick similar to Nikola Vucevic but no way should he be a top 5 pick. He hasn't even shown the ability to produce admirably on the collegiate level. I seriously doubt that he will be able to do so at the pro level until after about 5 years of grooming.
