My pitch to Dwight...

OK Dwight, I realize that you want to be one of the biggest stars in the NBA, and you want to go down in history as one of the best ever, especially better than that douche Shaq. And I realize that we are the Charlotte Bobcats. But hear me out.

Your image right now is shot, people are sick of you and your act, and no matter what you do, you can't win. You can't win if you stay in LA, the scrutiny there will be crazy all the time, and you'll never win that PR battle against Kobe. *I* realize that you are coming off of back surgery, played your way into shape, and still had a ton of rebounds and points playing at like 60%, but the LA fans hate you. Nationally, everyone puts you under a microscope. That will happen if you go to Houston (where you will be the "savior") or anywhere else where they will try and shoehorn you into what they are doing to try and get a title. What you need right now is to lay low, go to a place where they can build a team around you and what you do best, like what they did in Orlando.

Here in Charlotte, people in our own city don't know we have a basketball team. You can come in, people will forget about "bad" Dwight, you get a year to get 100%, play with our young core who will support you and grow with you. Our situation is actually perfect for you... we have a team of Kemba, MKG, Biz who are all complementary and do their job well. For a year you get to be anonymous to rehab your image, and after a year, we come back with a huge PR blitz, with you as the face of the brand new Charlotte Hornets. Our city loves the Hornets, and will back you and love you!

Also, we just hired the head coach you love! Coach Clifford will be the guy you get to work with and grow with, we will get shooters around you and let you dominate in the post... you will get MVP's here. You won't get them in LA or in Houston or in Atlanta or wherever. All the money's the same, max deals everywhere, but you come to the Bobcats, this is unequivocally your team, and you own this town. Everything is set up for you here, it's the perfect situation. Remember LJ and Grandmama? Yeah, it works here in Charlotte. It can be you Dwight.

I'm sure he dreads talking his way out of Orlando almost everyday.

Houston seems like a much better destination for him. Better Market. More recent success. They have shooters that can space the floor for him.

I will say us getting Clifford and Ewing at least gives an outside shot, but I would not spend a lot time thinking about it.

I don't even think Howard coming to Charlotte would make me stop hating him. It would make me more worried about his sanity.

His agent and advisers would never allow him to sign with the "lowly Bobcats". I honestly hope he goes to Houston so I can laugh at Dwightmare 3.0 when he's mad at Harden (who happens to sport a similar usage rating to Kobe) for not getting him the ball enough in the post.

I don't expect Dwight to recover his pre-injury form. Someone, probably Houston or LA is going to pay him a lot more than he's worth.

if Dwight came here I'd find a way withour other picks+ biz to get McLemore and Bennett here since the tank would be over. Kemba/McLemore/MKG/Bennett/Dwight. that lineup would be a contender by 2015

Dwight Howard is a D-bag. I don't want him on our team.

I'd actually rather Diop play for another 3 years than have Dwight come to our team. Haha

SOme of yall are saying Dwight sucks, and you would rather have Diop?? Wow, Im convinced some of you want the Bobcats to suck forever. Anyways, I doubt this would happing, but, what if we could get Dwight and CP3?? I remember hearing Chris Paul say in a interview he wouldn't mind playing for MJ, and his home state team.. You get CP3 and Dwight in here, this is a playoff team right away! You saw what they did with the Clippers when they got CP3, made them one of the top teams in the West, who would've ever thought??? Anything can happen.

Some of you must forgot about his Orlando days, Dwight was a beast, never got injured, a force in the paint, Dwight starting going downhill when he got that back injury last season, I believe he'll come back next season better than ever, he must work on is FTs though.

Please tell me you're not serious. I hate the dude but you'd have to be pretty crazy not to offer him at least very very close to a max deal. This is Dwight Howard, even in a down year punctuated by two pretty serious injuries, was by far the best center in the league.

There's no point in even talking about it though. He's more likely to S&T his way to Toronto than he is to sign here.

The best center in the league true, but has proven to be one of the biggest divas in the league when he is old enough to know better. No way would I be willing to handicap our cap situation from resigning our kids to have this clown come in and ruin our chemistry. Our Max player has to be the team leader. Dwight is not a leader.

Dwight is still a top 10 player, good luck in getting one of those here. If Dwight wants to listen, we have to try and get him. Unless we luck into drafting one, we have NEVER EVER had a top 10 player at the Bobcats, and no top free agent has ever even talked to us.

Maybe after the team rebuilds their image with the Hornets name change, and some proper development and identity, they'll be able to make pitches for a big free agent.

Right now, all they could do is overpay guys who probably won't live up to their deals. Josh Smith, Al Jefferson, etc.

Best FA strategy is to find value deals for players who haven't played their best ball yet. Cho did a good job of that with Sessions.

The good thing is he would never sign with Bobcats (nickname irrelevant). For once being a small market is a blessing. But I don't think Cho is a crazy man. Didn't he list character among qualities they are gonna search for in players?
