interesting. not sure where he fits or the money he would command or where that money would come from. in my eyes, jamison would be #3 on the power forward depth chart behind zeller and mcroberts. perhaps its purely for a lockerroom type role.
and lets not even think about the possibility of jefferson and jamison on the floor together defensively. yikes.

http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-free-agen ... ce-sectionAntawn Jamison – Last summer, Jamison signed with the Los Angeles Lakers because he wanted to be a key contributor on a contending team. Things obviously didn’t go as planned, as the Lakers were the biggest disappointment of the 2012-13 season and Jamison’s minutes fluctuated throughout the season, which frustrated the 37-year-old.
Now, Jamison is going through the free agency process yet again. A return to the Lakers is unlikely for Jamison, and joining their STAPLES Center co-tenant seems like a long shot as well. The L.A. Clippers had some discussions with Jamison earlier in the offseason, but they decided to go in a different direction and sign Byron Mullens instead. While chasing a ring in a different city is still an option for Jamison, the Charlotte Bobcats seem to be the frontrunner to sign him at this point. Jamison grew up in Charlotte and is interested in returning home and living year-round with his four children. He flirted with the Bobcats last offseason for this very reason, and may decide to join them now. While he would most likely have to endure a losing season, he’d get to play a large role and be one of the team’s veteran leaders alongside Al Jefferson and Ben Gordon as well as his former teammates Ramon Sessions and Brendan Haywood.

The best thing about the possible signing of Antawn Jamison is that it almost rules out the possibility of Patrick Ewing Jr. making the 15-man roster

somebody should ask bonnell what he has heard about this and where he would see jamison fitting on the roster? i dont see how clifford can find consistent minutes for zeller, mcbob and jamison (as well as jefferson and biz) barring injuries.

No room for him, we have Mcroberts who played great last year and Zeller who lookd promising in the Summer League. We should worry more about a SG before anything else.

For Jamison, it makes perfect sense to come home if he thinks his time playing professional basketball is about to end. For us, I just dont see why we need to sign him. We have Jefferson, Zeller, and McRoberts probably rotating in and out of the 4 spot. MKG and Taylor will probably demand the majority of the minutes at 3. I'll offer him the vet minimum for 2 years but thats as far as I will go.

Putting pressure on Henderson?

This makes little sense to me. Jamison is too slow to play the 3 at this point and our front court is now shockingly crowded.

You guys are thinking too much as far as our roster goes. I don't care if he plays at all. Sign him to a one year deal and be a mentor to Zeller, MKG, Biyombo, etc.

PHS represent!
I doubt he's any more than a mentor at this point, quite honestly. Zeller would benefit, and MKG as well, assuming Jamison doesn't teach MKG anything at all about shot selection.

Who else is a mentor? We have a couple good coaches and Al Jefferson. That's it. If Ben Gordon is mentoring our young guys, it explains why we didn't win 64 games last season.

if Charlotte does sign him i think he will play SF and back up MKG, that would mean Taylor will play SG a lot more, the pressure is on Gerald, i haven't heard anything about Gerald in a while so im gonna assume that no progress has been made and they are still miles apart on a contract

yea Ben and Haywood were the mentors last year, Al and Jamison would be upgrades there

What can Jamison teach our guys? How to stand around the perimeter and jack treys all game? First Haywood, now maybe Jamison, how much over the hill UNC players are we gonna get? I wouldn't be surprised if we bring Jeff McInnis out to be our 3rd PG at this point.

I don't know about now, but we sure could have used him last year.
I understand you deserve to chase a ring on a good team at least once in your career, I get that and respect that, but damn we really needed you last year

Elias Harris has agreed to a two-yera deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
I liked Harris at Summer League. Another young player goes by the wayside while CHA inexplicably focuses on Antawn Jamison and Patrick Ewing Jr. Oh well.

I really, really love this for our team.
This guy can still play imo and will be a very good vet to have around, he's a 2x all-star and former sixth man of the year, that doesn't hurt when commanding respect when teaching the prospects.
I imagine we pull off a trade at some point this season which will open up some time for him imo.
I could see us trading McBobcat to be honest.

yea there will be trades this season for Charlotte for sure, i kinda think that Gordon will be traded, that 13million dollar expiring could really help some team
