inspired by the "top 15 Mavs ", "top 15 Pistons" stuff that's going on in the other teams thread, who are your top 5 players in franchise history up to this point (not including future)?

1) Wallace - duh. face of the franchise for years, made an all-star team and an all-nba defensive 1st team, arguably should've gotten a bit more.

2) Okafor - averaged a double-double every year he was here but unfortunately peaked in his rookie year. He's here on sheer longevity and the fact that he was the only thing we had the resembled decency until Wallace broke out.

3) Kemba - yeah, 2 years in and he's already here at #3 and that includes his rookie year that had me ready to trade him for whatever we could get. Wasn't too far off of being an all-star last year and that was without any kind of help up front.

4) Jax - fizzled out completely after leaving Charlotte, but played very well while he was here and we definitely wouldn't have been in the playoffs without him.

5) Hendo - he's been pretty inconsistent and kind of injury prone, but his terrific end to the season last here has me sold on his future. Just a really good two-way player.

HM: Felton
Players that should make the list by next season: Jefferson, maybe MKG if he shows a lot of improvement.

keeping in mind the longevity aspect... felton gets the nod at 3, even though in pure talent he would be behind jax and kemba.

Me too. I was ready to write Kemba off as a poor man's Brandon Jennings (shooting a dreadful 37% from the field and all). I know I'm never making that mistake of writing off a rookie that played on a really bad team.

yea, and not a SG or a PF in the top 5 either......2 PG's 2 SF's and a C....might be the smallest starting 5 in the NBA

yea you should never label a player a bust in their rookie season or even their 2nd or 3rd season for the project players like Biz

I actually think Diaw is top 3 personally. That doesn't change the fact that he's a lazy fatass though.

Yeah, I flip flopped between Jackson and Diaw for 2nd. Ultimately, I decided that Jackson probably shot us out of more games than Diaw's fieldgoalaphobia hurt us. Diaw did so much dirty work and facilitating for the best Bobcats team ever that he deserves his props. Even though he was fat and undersized he held down the C spot pretty capably after Pussyfoot left.

Considering he was waived by a team in the middle of the worst season of all-time, that pretty much kills any notion of that being true. Nobody held down sh*t capably and Diaw might've been among the worst of the bunch. Any power forward that averages 5-6 rebounds per 36 minutes deserves no mention on any top 5 list. Agreed he was a difference maker in other ways like Josh McRoberts, but that's what he is- a multi-dimensional role player and it's not like he was an efficient 13/7/6 starting caliber player either like he was in Phoenix. He hasn't done anything to even warrant an honorable mention outside the top 5 for this franchise with zero history. Diaw over Jackson, Okafor, Kemba and even Felton is laughable. I think I gave him a serious benefit of the doubt when I gave him the #9 spot in the other thread. He had some memorable games when he actually tried but those were unfortunately few and very far between.

Wrong. Diaw is a glue guy and that team was so bad that there wasn't anything to glue together. When we had Wallace and Jax and a slew of guys that played team defense Diaw's being undersized at PF/C was marginalized but when the team was blown up Diaw was our best player left. When the best player on a terrible team is a complementary player by nature, he's going to look bad. That's why it's so important we draft a dynamic player this year because MKG is our most talented player but he's a complementary player by nature. We will remain terrible no matter how many winners and hard-workers we put around him.

Don't use him being waived as an argument when you're taking it out of context. He didn't want to play for us.

Maybe we get a bit more granular with this?

Top 5 in terms of:

Underrated/Overrated (has a bobcats player even been overrated?)
Laziness
Bball IQ and/or lack thereof
Teammate/Chemistry Enhancement
Likelihood to drown kittens and/or murder another human being

What Else? I'll go ahead and put myself into the top 5 laziest posters since I didn't manage to turn any of these into a list.

My top 5:
1. Crash - not even a question, was my favorite player in all the NBA when he was a Bobcat, and even now I have a soft spot for him, even though he is on the hated C's.
2. Jax - Even though his attitude sucks in other places, actually was fine here in Charlotte despite the situation. And he can ball. Dude is gangsta.
3. Okafor - Won rookie of the year, and was a rebounding, defense, and good enough at scoring to be at least talked about as a fringe all-star.
4. Felton - Turned down our money because he thought he was better than he was, still is the best PG in history of Bobs, Kemba still has some proving to do.
5. Richardson - when JRich was traded, I hated it for the Cats, hated getting Raja Bell and Diaw, hated it all the way around. Him and Crash was my favorite combo on the wings the Cats have ever had.
