The Hornets

Post#1 » by Liamuk » Sun Oct 13, 2013 6:13 pm

Right guys, I've always been interested as to what you guys think will happen with our team within the next 3 years, obviously you can't predict exactly what will happen but what seems likely.

Nothing outrageous, everything realistic. Even if it's just an odd thought, e.g. Biz will be our starting center.

I guess i'll kick it off, apologies if this thread has been done before, just didnt see it as i was looking.

2013/2014:
- Zeller wins ROY - 15/9/2 (optimistic but possible)
- Kemba averages 17/7/2 steals
- MKG averages 12/8/4
- Hornets win 3rd pick

You guys get the idea? Anywhere up until the 2016 season! Also i see us getting into the playoffs in the 2014/15 season

Although I must admit, I haven't watched alot of bobcats games here goes my opinion:

I would think MKG would get around 7 rebounds or so, Kemba could improve his scoring abit to probably 19-20 ppg. He's an attacking guard and a good one at that, he is underrated in my eyes.

Biz being out starting center was just an example! Of course in the future i hope he is, but for now, yes Al Jeff is the way to go! You dont see no improvement with MKG?

Unfortunately i'm not very optimistic about him... I better see Taylor taking a bigger role in the team.

I think MKG will be pretty good, a mix of Tony Allen and Gerald Wallace, this year im guessing 30MPG, 11ppg 7.5rpg 2ast 1blk and 1stl

Do you see MKG as being expendable in that case? if so what do you think we would get for him?

MKG expendable? What?

Zeller won't be that good, not with Jefferson, Walker, and Henderson taking most of the shots, presumably 15-20ppg apiece. 10/7 for both Zeller and MKG seems very fair, considering both are very young, and likely our 4th and 5th options with our starting unit.

Kemba's predictions are right on. I see him passing a little more often, maybe putting up 16/8/4/2.

If we trade MKG we better get back a SG with some serious potential and maybe a 2nd round pick (maybe find Jeff Taylor 2.0)

I would only package him with other guys/picks for a star. I still stand next to my prediction of him becoming similar to prime Shawn Marion,

I tend to be optimistic about the Bobcats' future, but I also like to remain realistic in my expectations.

Cody Zeller won't win rookie of the year, in fact I think he'll end up on the all-rookie second team. He would have had a very, very real possibility of winning it had we not signed Al Jeff.

Speaking of, I'm fine and happy with his signing. Mainly for next year. Al Jefferson isn't a crucial player this year, but next year when we make a playoff push he will be valuable. We will have space to sign a max-level player next summer, and paired with Al and all of our improved youngins, we will have a good chance and maybe even be expected to get into the playoffs. This will be very exciting because we have a young roster that is going to get better in the next five+ years.

I do think Biyombo will thrive in his new role this year. I'm not ruling out him improving a lot eventually, but right now his role is an energy defender and floor-runner off the bench. I like how we now have the versatility for guys to just do what they're good at, such as MKG slashing, getting to the rim, and rebounding. Although I'm a big advocate of him shooting the ball every single time he is wide open. It will be much more frustrating to watch him pass those opportunities up then to miss half the shots he takes.

Kemba will continue to improve, and will not be stunted at all by Al Jeff. Kemba is becoming quite a good shooter, and will hit a lot more threes this year. He won't have to take circus shots to bail out the offense, and will average at least one more assist per game for dishing it to Al.

Overall us Charlotte fans have a lot to be excited about, because we have a young team, flexibility, and a real chance at the playoffs heading to our first season as THE HORNETS (still sounds unreal).

And that's my rant for the night. Because I don't want to write this paper that I have to.
The Lamb flock's vision has come true.

Marion was an absolute beast with Phoenix. I'd be exhilarated if MKG became that kinda player.

Hey guys,

I'm new to NBA, I'm Australian and have decided that the Bobcats are the team to follow. I follow a current generation successful team in Australian Rules Football (AFL) in the Geelong Cats and wanted to follow a struggling team on the potential rise in a new sport. I drew an emotional connection with Bobcats very early on based on a few factors and I'm right behind them. Signed up to NBA League Pass and I'm raring to go for the NBA season. Been following preseason and things are looking pretty good the last game and a half. Ok.. intro over.

My main point of this post is this - when the Bobcats change to the Hornets next season do we bring along with it the Hornets history from the past or is that part of New Orleans franchise now?

I just want clarification so I can get behind the history of the club.

Cheers guys!

1 in Qld and in WA but both go for Geelong?

Interesting.

I think Aussies are often drawn to the underdogs.

FYI, there are a few Aussie Bobcat fans around.

Be careful of mats, he's from Canberra and a clippers fan.
