No way Drummond has more impact than him although Drummond has an awesome impact defensively.

16/10/3/1/1 players are rare.

I'd trade them anything other than MKG, Kemba and our first for him.

I look at Greg Monroe as a carbon copy of Al Jefferson to a certain extent, just Jefferson is a little more skilled offensively & a better shot blocker. That's not to say that Monroe isn't a very good young big because he is. I'm just saying that Monroe is not the type of big that'll be the reason why a team consistently win ball games

And I view Drummond as maybe a slightly better Deandre Jordan right now. We will see soon enough.

yea Drummond being a better DeAndre Jordan is accurate, and i think Detroit will have a very average offense and a top 10 defense, Josh Smith,Drummond and Monroe isn't a good combination on offense no spacing at all unless Josh starts chucking up 3's which would do more bad than good and Jennings is trigger happy as hell

Drummond is going to have a killer season just rebounding all the bricks the other 4 guys on the floor at any given time are going to throw up. He'll never see the ball outside of offensive boards because of the entire rest of the roster jacking shots (bricks) all the time. Looking at the roster, it's terribly inefficient outside of Drummond. Look at all their other rotation players: Jennings, Stuckey, Smith, Villanueva, Bynum, Billups, Siva, Jerebko, and Monroe. None of these guys (not even Monroe) are exactly known for their offensive efficiency. They'll be a good rebounding and interior defensive team, but it's a trainwreck all-around offensively, and Jennings/Stuckey is a horrible defensive combo, with little perimeter defense on the bench either. It's going to be a much worse season than most people think. With a garbage coach like Cheeks, I don't expect playoffs from them at all. In fact, I'm worried about the outside chance they're so bad that we don't even get their pick.

I was thinking that earlier, that Monroe and Jefferson would be a trainwreck together b/c they're such similar players. He always looks like the same guy from his rookie year when I see him, I swear I think he's the Piston's Okafor except with offense instead of defense.

Great comparison. I hadn't thought of it before but it makes so much sense.

league pass watchability rankings from grantland

bobcats ranked ahead of suns, sixers, raptors, magic and jazz... whatever...

CHARLOTTE HORBOBNETCATS: 43.5

Bill: I was on an airplane recently watching some seemingly awful Nic Cage movie called Stolen and thinking about how Nic Cage has probably been watched on more airplanes than any other actor ever. But guess what. I realized around the 35-minute mark that Stolen wasn't so bad; we landed with 15 minutes left in the movie, and I was 12 percent pissed off that I didn't get to see the ending, although the movie wasn't quite good enough to pay-per-view so I could finally see the ending, either. That's kind of how I feel about the 2013-14 Horbobnetcats. We'll flip over expecting them to be unwatchable and realize they're more entertaining than we expected, only we won't go out of our way to watch them, either.

Zach: Last movie I saw on a plane that finished before we landed: Boiler Room. How does it end? I'll never find out. Do they make a lot of money in a way that benefits the economy as a whole, just like what happens on Wall Street in real life? I'll never find out!

Bill: This ranking climbs if Al Jefferson makes a run at the scoring title (shooting 30 times a game, but still) and/or if MKG learns how to make a 15-footer. And I'm kind of excited for the Cody Zeller–Big Al high-low game. (Thinking.) This score might be too low.

Zach: I had them dead last in my own rankings, which surprised me. I think it's residual malaise from the last two seasons, and the fact that their court design contains an orange shade that distracts me with images of Creamsicles.

Bill: I hate you for planting this court-design subplot that's in your head — now I'm going to be watching League Pass studying the court designs. Damn you.

Zach: And those Charlotte crowds are so, so dead. But Kemba Walker made a leap last season, and Jeff Taylor has secret fun potential. If Al Jefferson makes a run at the scoring title, I'll eat my laptop. Very good offensive player, but hard to score at that level without 3s or free throws.

Bill: Yeah, but still.

I see Bill Simmons still doesn't have any basketball insight to what's going on inside of the Charlotte Bobcats organization, so he just throw subtle jabs hoping they land

DeMarcus Cousins is looking like the best C in the league lately. Headcase or not, we all must admit that he has game. He had a 29 points, 9 rebounds, & 6 steals performance last night against the Suns following his previous outing of 31 points & 11 rebounds versus the Clippers

I think it was silly of him to openly discuss it the way he went about it. I thought he would've learned from his fiasco in Denver that lead to him getting traded to NY not to talk about free-agency during or before the season. I'm beginning to think he's just an attention whore.

One of those games ole BJ Mullens was guarding him so don't get too excited. But I'd like to see Boogie turn it around.

Derrick Rose is back and probably better than ever. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins MVP and Comeback Player of the Year this season. There's no way they can deny him of that if he leads the Bulls to the best record in the league and he plays 85% of the games.

watching the Clippers Portland game, the Clippers commentator is so dumb its not even funny some things he said

1-DeAndre Jordan is the best running big ever
2-Blake is gonna shoot like KG from midrange
3-Mullens can play SF when the Clippers go "huge"

I just watched those two highlight reels last night and they gave me some hope to stay on the Boogie bandwagon. Those two dives for loose balls against the Suns is something we would have never seen from him earlier in his career.
