In light of a wolf being a kind of dog, today's GT is brought to you by:

Chicks on all fours (BUT BE CAREFUL!!!!)

NOOOOOOOOOOISEEEEEE!!!

I'm afraid Love will go off against us. Might as well pit Biz against him to make it at least enjoyable.

Minnesota's bench crew will be sure to show up with fury tonight after the reaming Love gave them. Probably should be one of those Friday nights where you find something else to do, because this contest won't be pretty. I imagine Lamar is already pounding ales over in Latvia just in preparation. Prepared for the worst but still hoping for the best, go cats

McBob might be our best chance at guarding Love. If we try anything else, Love will go off for 40 and 20.

Looking forward to Jefferson wrecking Pekovic.

The offensive game plan here should be simple, and almost like a reverse dose of medicine, by having Kemba Walker & Al Jefferson run the high pick & roll, taking Nik Pekovic away from the rim all the while making him have to move laterally. This should result in either Kemba getting a lot of open looks from midrange to attacking the basket since Minnesota lacks rim protection to a worst extent than Charlotte, to Al Jefferson getting a good look at the free throw line ranged jump shot, or if they manage to collapse well enough to deter Kemba or Jefferson then the corner 3-pointer should be exploitable if Henderson or CDR are willing to take it

curious to see if we still own the twolves.

it would be hilarious to see them lose another close game. they are 0-10 in games decided by less than 4 pts. they do a lot of their damage in on the fast break, by cleaning d-rebounds and creating turnovers. they arent as good in the half court where rubio's lack of shooting hurts them. barea is really just about their only player who can create his own shot. when games are tight in the 4th, they struggle because the fast break pts arent there, teams can double off rubio and nobody on the floor can go 1v1 for a basket.

we excel in preventing fast breaks so we match up will with their strength, so get back on defense and take care of the ball on offense. keep the game close in the 4th and hope the implode as usual.

i think it will be the other way around. pek is a monster. al wont be able to move him out of the paint. pek doesnt strike me as the type to bite on fakes, so he will just stay planted and force jefferson away from the basket. he's probably quicker than jefferson as well, which is just crazy to think about.

He's arguably the best passing point guard in the NBA though

yes, solid game plan. get pek away from the basket. jefferson wont be able to do anything on pek close to the rim. pek is probably as reluctant to defend away from the paint as jefferson. although i do think you will see that pek can move better than jefferson on defense.

why the green font? his passing and his shooting arent related.

Pekovic don't stand a chance but to foul against Kemba in space. I haven't paid him much attention, especially not his quickness compared to Jefferson's, but I would tend to think that Pekovic is a lesser defender from the games I've seen. Just like Jefferson, he tends to watch players when they attack the rim instead of contest the shots

Just random sarcasm for anybody that don't believe that a modern day point guard has to be a scoring threat as much as a passer

Do we really think mcbob will be able to stop Love? Im thinking there's going to be a jeff adrien sighting tonight.

i have definitely soured a bit on rubio this year. he has done nothing to improve his weaknesses. he is the same player he was two years ago, it seems. sure, his 3pt shooting is a little better, but his inability and reluctance to finish at the rim is really hard to deal with.

mcbob is more comfortable defending out to the 3pt line, where loves hangs out. in terms of rebounding though, the team will have to really pick it up. pek and love crash the o-boards hard. it will take a team effort to keep them off the glass. MKG would have really helped here.

McRoberts might be the best initial option, but like you stated, I would venture to giving Adrien around 20 minutes tonight, but I doubt that's in Clifford's itinerary. It'll be McRoberts, then Zeller, and if neither of those work then you'll see Tolliver. It's that bleak at the PF position. Clifford is kind of a contradiction as a defensive-minded coach by observing the starting frontcourt (sans MKG)

Agreed. Pek > Al. Not by a whole lot and the numbers probably won't back him up but Pek isn't nearly as bad at black holing and defending as Al is. He's grounded like Al but he'll actually move his feet a bit to challenge shots instead of pure spectating like Al. And he looks like a Superman villain.
