I heard he's gonna be a Free Agent after this season. Should he be given an extension or change uniforms before the trade deadline?

Change uniforms or change his game. Don't get me wrong because I think Sessions is a good player and one of the best backup PGs in the league but it's obvious that he's playing for self and stat padding to help his market value when he become a free agent this summer. We don't need that. So if he's going to continue playing the way he is then he can walk. My answer is not to keep Sessions. We can find somebody cheaper than his $5 million now that we know Kemba is our future PG and gonna play 35-40 minutes a night.

I'd rather not. It's nice that he can create his own offense, which is what this team needs at times, but he can also be too selfish and throw up bad shot after another like he's playing one-on-five. I just don't think he's a good fit for the team long term. We would be better off with a combo guard that could either shoot or pass (ideally both) and Sessions is terrible at both.

Not. At this point Charlotte should use that additional money from Ramon Sessions' expiring on helping them to fill out other positions that are dense like a perimeter shooting wing & upgrading the depth in the frontcourt. Charlotte should be able to sign a veteran backup PG for close to the minimum or opt to draft one (late 1st round or with their 2nd round pick)

Honestly he's one of the more productive members of this team. He isn't essential but should only be traded if he brings back real value.

I would move him, if possible, by the deadline for anything of value. If not, then draft or bring in a FA PG who is more of a distributor to back up Kemba.

i'd rather not try to resign sessions, at least not at a salary anywhere near what he makes now.

1) i dont see the logic in committing 5mil (or more) per season for a backup to play 13 minutes behind kemba (because ideally, sessions shouldnt be getting shooting guard minutes). we have too many other needs that could be filled using that money. if we were to give that kind of money to a backup, i'd look at someone like vasquez.

2) sessions is not a great fit for our current roster. he checks two needs (size and scoring), but doesnt check othersw which are more important for our backup (3pt shooting, passing)

3) with potentially 3 first round picks, we could easily draft a point guard to play behind kemba. i do realize the value of experience in a backup guard, but lets face it, its not like sessions has a ton of valuable playoff experience.

signing sessions when we did for the price we did was a great piece of business. kemba was coming off a rough rookie year and augustin was leaving. we had to make sure we had an backup plan in case kemba didnt improve. but at this point, 5mil for a decent backup pg (who doesnt really fit our needs) is a luxury we cant really afford.

I'm for trading Sessions (and McBob) if we can get something decent, otherwise just hang on to them and see what happens in the offseason.

4) i would also add that i find it very unlikely that sessions will get the calls in the playoffs the way he gets calls in the regular season, thus negating his main strength.

I really liked him last year, but this year, he's just not a fit with this team. Would much rather have a backup vet point guard that can shoot and pass like Jose Calderon.

I would've agreed with you more last season. He really doesn't fit this team anymore though. He really brings nothing new to the table that we don't already have in Kemba and Henderson. I'd be good with finding a trade for a slightly lesser backup point guard (Ridnour?) as long as that one can hit threes.

I'd really like to have Nate Robinson coming off the bench.

Sessions was SO valuable to us last year. He helped us out of some tight spots and gave us a kind of boost that we needed at the time. This year, however, like many have pointed out, his production and overall impact have started waning. The question is do we keep, trade, or let him go?

I personally don't wanna see him go, mainly because I appreciate all the games he's played for us and bad times he sat with us through, and because he is still one of the very best backup PG's there is.
I can put up with him not passing it, because I've seen him try to set up teammates a number of times and they just fumble the ball out of bounds or miss the layup so his incentive of passing has been discouraged.

As much as I don't like that and I want him to pass the ball a LOT more, I can live with it.
What I cannot live with is the fact that he is not very good from the arc or shooting in general, which is probably the biggest gap in his game and when teams/scouts notice he only wants to go to the hole, they don't respect his shot and cut off his lanes and passing lanes.

This team needs better shooting more than literally anything right now.

All that being said, I would keep sessions unless we had a for-sure, no ****, passing, good shooting backup to replace him with.
