Even worse... He will probably guard mkg and hold him to five points.

Like MKG needs to be stopped for him to score 5 points.

Lol, now we're trolling our own players.

"On November 10, 2012, Kidd-Gilchrist recorded his first career double-double in a 101-97 win against the Dallas Mavericks. He had 25 points and 12 rebounds. This makes him one of only five players under the age of 20 to record 25+ points and grab 12+ rebounds in their careers, and the second youngest to do it behind LeBron James."

He'll figure it out.

Those 25-point games MKG had came in the first two months of his career, by far the best two-month stretch he's ever had. I don't find those performances relevant anymore.

nobody is saying MKG doesnt have the talent to score 25pts any more. he just doesnt seem to have the confidence or mentality.

To quote the great Sidney Deane, even the sun shines on a dog's ass some days. Not to diss MKG, but for every 20-point game he's had, you can find three 4-point games of his. You can't use stats of a single game as evidence for a player having a great career ahead of him.

You can also go on bk-ref to find out that Kwame Brown is one of only five players under the age of 22 to record 30+ points on 75% shooting and grab 19+ rebounds. (I did not make this up, by the way)

His performance on the offensive end during the last games deserves some trolling (which, by the way, is targeted at every player of ours from time to time). He might end up being as average as Tony Allen on the offensive end, for all we know.

Never said he'd have a great career (plus he had two of those games). It seems a little hypocritical for someone to insinuate that DJ (or in your case, no one) can hold him to five points but I can't offer a more optimistic take.

point being made about DJ was simply that other teams are hiding their worst defender on MKG most nights and MKG (or the coach, or the players or all 3) havent figured out a way to take advantage of it. i think the team still views jefferson vs their best post defender (and double-teams) as a more attractive offensive option than MKG vs the worst defender.

the guy is coming back from a broken hand and plays for an org that's gone out of its way to limit his minutes in order to keep him from concussing himself 4 times in a year like his predecessor did lol

when mkg learns how to work a high post then he'll be fine - as is, he's another player that needs to mesh with jefferson's spacing demands.

right now MKG can only score in one of three ways
1) transition offense to his right hand
2) wide open mid-range jumpers
3) catching the ball wide open under the rim

come on. if you really want to simplify everything to such a base level then you could say that al only scores by

getting a play ran for him on the low block
taking 15 footers

Plant Bismack far from basket and they may switch from MKG. Problem solved.

We're just a one-trick pony team. Our entire offense revolves around posting up Jefferson on the left block and other teams know this now. When Al can get there expediently and go into a move sooner than 3 years it's not too bad b/c there's enough time on the clock to pass out of the double or stop and swing the ball from side to side for slashes or jumpers but when Al takes forever to get up the floor, then multiple seconds to post up, then holds the ball, then kicks back out for a re-post, then goes into a move we're reduced to Al one-and-done's or a bail out shot by Kemba or McBob.

MKG is a complementary offensive player but even in best case scenarios there are very limited opportunities for him to complement the offense b/c the offense is so ball dominated by Al and sometimes Kemba/McBob/Hendo. If we were allowed to fast break and crash the glass MKG would be a lot more productive but we're not b/c Al and the offense cements us into a halfcourt tempo and run back on defense ASAP set. MKG's best asset is his high motor and relentless energy but you don't really reap the rewards of that with 17 mpg of slow paced ball.

What gives?
