Bobcats Interested In Taj Gibson?

The Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards and Charlotte Bobcats have each engaged in preliminary trade talks with the Chicago Bulls regarding Taj Gibson, according to a source.

The Bulls reportedly did not like the possible return from any of the teams.

The Bulls could be determined to move salary to create room and pair Derrick Rose with a second superstar.

“The way that works is this, when something gets close or they think there’s something there that makes sense they’ll come to me,’’ Tom Thibodeau said. “Every conversation that they’re having I don’t know about nor do I want to know about. I think it’s important for me to be focused on the guys we do have.

any thoughts on us going after taj gibson? god knows he would improve our pf spot by a mile.

Gerald + McBob for Taj

Sessions is right within the numbers straight up. And Bulls don't like the value sent back - which would fit with them having Augustin and kind of having Rose. I guess it gotta be construct around him, Sessions it is. He is an expiring as well (and oddly enough their PER as almost identical).

gibson's salary numbers:

2013/14: 7.55
2014/15: 8
2015/16: 8.5
2016/17: 8.95

its a bit steep, but he is a great defender, rebounder and can score when needed. certainly a huge upgrade over mcroberts and zeller. gives us a short frontcourt though. however, gibson has always played bigger than his size.

the people who wanted to pair Al with a rim protecting big should be ecstatic. Gibson is one of the best options out there.

Thibs loves him though and I bet that Chicago has plans that involve Gibson and Noah holding down the front-court for the near future while they re-group for the next team that makes a push for the finals. a team without Boozer and Deng. We would probably have to give the Bulls way more than you guys are ready to give up for Gibson.

Gibson would help this team so much its insane. We have the worst PF rotation in the league, by far.

A defensive-minded PF that would help Al Jefferson's deficiencies in that area, and the same reason why so many of us have been harping for Clifford to experiment with Bismack Biyombo in this role before trying to make a trade proposal like this one for Taj Gibson

ben gordon for taj gibson and mike dunleavy works. depends on how badly the bulls want to shed money. they free up 11mil this summer in that deal. but that doesnt get them under the cap, so not sure what good it does. can they also amnesty boozer? if so that would free up 27mil for them in the summer.

their course of action supposedly is to amnesty Boozer, get the most out of this summer's draft picks and bring over Nikola Mirotic.

I have no issue with including Zeller in a deal for Taj.
Humble yourself.

How much salary are they wanting to shed? Giving Boozer the amnesty would shed a ton.

Considering some of their board are suggesting Kemba and a 1st round pick.....

I'd say if we were going to bring in Gibson (and I am a bug fan of his - was when I watched him at USC) then why not just roll the dice and play Biz as our starting PF.

No way in hell I'd combine sessions or hendo with a first for this guy. He's overpaid and not worth that value

You seriously wouldn't give up Ramon freaking Sessions and one of our two worst first round picks for Taj Gibson?

Taj Gibson isn't even worth that contract he has. Look at it. Sessions by himself and a second rounder sure. But don't forget this draft is stacked. Taj Gibson is a good player, nothing amazing though. Doesn't bring much outside of his defense.

I think we should use our own shot blocker/defender at PF (Biz) before we go out and get one that costs 8+ million or put Al at PF
