if he doesn't get traded somewhere else by 3pm, Ridnour will be just as impactful of an addition. could do a lot worse for a backup guard.

Out: Ramon Sessions: 1 year/5mil; Jeff Adrien 1 year/900k

sad to see Sessions and Rocky leave us.

Pros: Acquired two guys that can make threes.

Cons: Chemistry hit.

the chemistry mix is always the concern for mid-season trades. we have been playing our best ball during the past month, so its risky to make a trade that involves a key player.

that being said, we definitely upgraded our shooting. ridnour is money from 15-20 feet.

Love this trade. I've always liked Ridnour, he gives us much-needed shooting and is a very good distributor. I think he'll easily replace Sessions' role, even though Sessions is most def one of the best backup PGs out there. I'm not much of a Gary Neal fan, but you can't say no to more shooting.

Also, assuming Ridnour gets PT, we now have a person on the second line that is a solid distributor instead of primarily looking for his own shot. Maybe we'll see a boost in scoring from Biz and Zeller?

With that said, big fan of Sessions and sad to see him go.

biyombo minutes + adrien minutes now = biyombo minutes, unless another big is acquired before the deadline. this might be a small statement of confidence in biyombo's play of late.

i am not really mad at this deal. sessions played like a combo guard anyway why not get a guy that can shot...i dont see how he is better than pargo though

This deal was first reported (or tweeted) by ESPN's Marc Stein...

And then a few minutes later, here comes Rick...

And then Woj...

Does Yahoo! have a feud with ESPN?

I don't seem to get why these scribes are kind of competing on who will break it first.

ON TOPIC:

I hope Neal lights up the score board for us like he did back with the Spurs. I'm also interested to see how Ridnour can contribute for the Bobcats.

Though I'm kinda sad to see Sessions and Rocky go. :(

I was hoping we'd get Ersan somehow as our stretch 4 and gifted Giannis Antetokounpo for our troubles. I figured Herb Kohl would be like "Get rid of that dern African Antenna Coon Bow, I thought he was supposed to be a nice Greek boy."

of course haywood will be back soon, and seeing as how clifford sees him as the team's "best rim-protector" biyombo might disappear just like before. le sigh.

not sure how to feel about this. I think Ramon is the best player in the trade and I love Adrien as a towel waver and thought he should be playing over Zeller.

If anyone had any doubts after the Jefferson signing, this is definitive statement that we have moved out of the rebuilding phase solidly into the CHI/SA/Larry Brown approach of only signing/trading for mature vets.
