Lol they really screwed him over. Now he can't join a playoff team is that correct?

I hope Dunlap sent him a text to humble himself.

Yep. He could only play in the remaining regular season games.

Is there a good place to go to find a list of D-League players who are available. Looking over the website I found it hard to tell who did or did not belong to another team.

I love how Bonnell calls this "some thoughts on waiving Gordon" as if that article consisted of any kind of analysis:

In a move that seemed inevitable, the Charlotte Bobcats waived little-used veteran shooting guard Ben Gordon Sunday, hours after the deadline for him to be on another team’s playoff roster.

The Bobcats and Gordon had discussed a possible buyout that would have saved the team some portion of Gordon’s $13.2 million salary and granted Gordon his freedom. That would have had to happen by Saturday for Gordon to qualify for another team’s playoff roster.

Once that deadline passed there wasn’t much sense in keeping Gordon on the roster. He hardly ever played either for Bobcats coach Steve Clifford or his predecessor, Mike Dunlap. A variety of other guards including Ramon Sessions, Jeff Taylor and the recently-acquired Gary Neal, all played in front of Gordon in his 1 ½ seasons with the team.

Gordon’s contract expires after this season. The team looked into using that expiring deal at the trade deadline, but no appropriate option materialized.

Gordon came to the Bobcats in June of 2012 in a trade from the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons took back Corey Maggette. Essentially the Bobcats accepted Gordon’s 2013-14 salary in return for a future first-round pick with limited protection.

If the Pistons’ pick is outside the top eight in June, the Bobcats get it. If the Bobcats don’t get the pick in 2014, they get it in 2015 so long as it’s not the No. 1 overall pick.

the only thing we can learn from it is that there were some talks of a buyout.

Ivan Johnson has supposedly worked for some NBA teams, I wouldn't mind him. Rather not sign Fab Melo.

we should totally sign Luke Zeller (only 99% joking) or we could just bring back Southerland or even get Thanasis Antetokounmpo

and also

I would have waived him the day after too.

He had the opportunity to take the money from the buyout and have a chance to get on a team that could use him to try and win a championship(long shot, but could have). He chose a little more money over the opportunity of making a deep run. It's showed in his recent career that himself is more important than the team he plays for. So instead of giving him money and letting him have a chance to win if just give him the money cause it's what he cared about.

But maybe I'm an ass.

this is my thinking as well. i dont see how this is an insult. i am sure we offered him a buyout that would have allowed him to sign with a team prior to the deadline. gordon was probably wanting more money and was willing to forgo the chance at playoffs to get his full money owed.

and lets be honest, there is not a single playoff team that would have given ben gordon minutes during a playoff series. he would not crack the top 8/9 rotation on any playoff team.

HAHAHAHAHA GO **** YOURSELF BEN GORDON.

I would've done the same. Though I'd have traded him a long time ago. The ultimate F.U. to Ben Gordon! I was worried he'd ride the Thunder to a championship or something.

We are paying the guy millions to go away and do whatever he wants the rest of the season as long as that doesn't involve playing in the postseason for another team. Poor guy. We are so mean.

Well we could've released him yesterday and watch him ride the Thunder to an undeserved title. I applaud our front office for being a jerk to him.

D- League all star, 7 foot, 260 lbs. If he can stand up without falling, he'll be a better fit then Gordon.

Even as a die hard Uconn fan im even happy to see this. Gordon has brought nothing to the team other than a distraction and hes a POS, I went to Brooklyn from CT to watch a Bobcats game and sat RIGHT behind the bench I was wearing my Uconn jersey and I said what up to him and he just ignored me. CYAAAAA buddy dont let the door hit you on the way out. Time for you to go "humble yourself"
