RealGM Users,
The forum upgrades that have taken place over the last two weeks are now complete.

We feel many of them will improve the forum experience for everyone but do believe one of them in particular is a true game changer for us in terms of getting more traffic for our MLB, NFL, NHL, Soccer and Other Sports Forums.
MyForums
The new MyForums Feature locAted on the same line as your profile page allows Users and Moderators to select all of their favorite forums and put them all on one page.
Just go to the bottom of a forum and Click on the “MyForum Link” and the forum will be instantly added to your MyForums Page
myforums.php
Not only does this allow Users and Moderators to customize their own forum pages but no longer does a User or Moderator have to go to 6 different sections to view their favorite forums.
I believe this will have a huge impact on traffic for our other forums.
and......
There is a fan base for those teams as proven by those new favorite team logos some users have uploaded to their profile via the favorite team options in their profiles.
Here are just some examples
MLB
Diamondbacks: 15 Users
Red Sox: 43 Users
Cubs: 48 Users
Dodgers: 37 Users
Marlins: 26 Users
Phillies: 27 Users
Giants: 23 Users
Most other teams have similar numbers.
NFL
Bills- 27 Users
Panthers: 27 Users
Bears- 65 Users
Dolphins- 45 Users
Patriots: 65 Users
Giants: 63 Users
Raiders: 33 Users
Eagles- 39 Users
49ers- 60 Users
Bucs: 25 Users
Most other teams have similar numbers
NHL
Ducks- 16 Users
Blackhawks: 55 Users
Bruins- 35 Users
Red Wings: 31 Users
Canadians: 26 Users
Rangers- 49 Users
Leafs: 121 Users
Many teams have similar numbers
The above are just some examples and most teams have at least 10 Users users who have chosen them as their favorite team for that sport. If anyone wants to know a count for any team, just let me know and keep in mind, many users have not done this part of their new profile yet. I do plan to use this feature to help myself and Moderators of particular forums identify potential posters for that particular forum.
Why is this relevant though?
It shows there is a fan base for these teams and I have always maintained the navigation/drag of going to other sections of forums was a big reason traffic has been slow on most of our non-NBA forums.
This MyForums Feature ends all of that.
The key now is to get those forums going because the user base is there.
I am going to be encouraging Moderators to get discussion going on our Non-NBA forums and ask users to do the same. Feel free to start some threads and help our community grow into a one-stop shop for sports forums. Moderator Positions are also available on some of those forums and activeness is one thing I look for when you choosing Moderators.
Will all users who choose say the Bruins as their favorite NHL Team post on that forum? No, but it shows their is a fan base and I do believe this option is going to allow those communities to grow.
Please give me any feedback that you may have.
I hope that we can finally start to grow these forums into something for all sports but not just basketball.
Thanks as always to all of you for helping make us the best NBA forums and hopefully the best MLB, NFL, NHL, Soccer and Other Sports Forums on the internet.
