things that need to change next game

MKG needs more minutes
jefferson has to make more of an effort on defense. i dont care if he has a torn everything.
CDR has to play better or else cliff needs a quick hook in favor of tolliver
cliff should try some smaller lineups like mcbob/zeller and mcbob/tolliver
we need to get some of the 50/50 calls - cliff needs to start working this angle right away. it might pay off.
kemba should play until he asks to come out.

Any takers for the creation of the Game 3 GT (should JDR not carry over)?

perhaps, stagger the minutes so that Hendo is on the court to guard LeBron when MKG isn't.

and not only because I believe that Hendo is some kind of a stopper but also because I believe that he plays better when he's challenged or is pissed off. I see no reason why he shouldn't treat a hobbled Wade who wants to rest as much as he can as he treats guys like Monta Ellis. Post him, bruise him up, just go at him, period.

Hendo is SF in a SG body. CDR play better at SG, especially against Miami since he's so rail thin.

If Al is not 100 percent is there any reason to get off the bus?

we also need to get a lot more physical with them in the paint. no more touch fouls. no more layups. no more plays where guys can decide if they want to foul or not, only to give up the layup and the foul. jefferson hasnt decked anyone all season. he needs to get over his fear of contact and send somebody to the floor. its the playoffs. he cant just watch guys get layups like its a random tuesday night game in january.

I would be pleasantly happy with Jefferson's defense if he layed out a few Heat players even if it's a flagrant foul. He barely pick up many fouls so it wouldn't hurt him in the long run anyway.

hendo has no idea how to play as a 3rd+ option on offense. he only knows how to be a 1st or 2nd option (ie putting up numbers on awful teams). he has done a terrible job of adjusting his offensive game to that of a 3rd option.

i agree with lamar that hendo or mkg should be on lebron as much as possible. i would also maybe consider using tolliver on lebron over CDR. i know CDR had a fantastic end to the season but i am not sure he is a good matchup in this series. if we play him at SF he gets destroyed by lebron. if we play him at sg it comes at the expense of neal.

We need to play some small ball against Miami. I hate to say it but Spo outcoached Clifford when he went to James Jones because McBob isn't used to defending 3 point shooting wings and we damn sure couldn't have him on fleet footed Lebron. I would love to see some MKG at PF for once, especially in this series where penetrate and dish is pretty much their whole offense besides iso ball with great scorers like Lebron and Wade.

so basically the same things that have needed to change all season

CDR had no chance at all guarding James. He isn't big enough. Tolly seemed to do better, but he wasn't in there long enough to really tell, plus the game was basically over. How many buckets did Lebron get on MKG? He scored form the foul line, but I don't think he hit many shots.

Wade kept backing Hendo up to the basket and scoring easily. What was up with that?

Wade can do that to any SG that has to defend him on a island. I wouldn't make much of it. Hendo played solid defense for a guard that didn't have any rim protection behind him.

I'm mad at Hendo for not stepping up as a 3rd scorer when Big Al was hobbled. We needed somebody to step up. Kemba did but Hendo was invisible, couldn't even make open shots.

If Jefferson was 100% I would feel good about our chances stealing game 2. But Miami also missed a lot of wide open 3's today. Its sad, but they could put forth the same effort and win comfortably again. We just don't have a starting SG and its killing us.

If Al can be 100% and be able to score down low then our offense should be much improved. Often it felt like that without him being aggressive, the guards and wings were settling for long contested jumpers rather than attacking the basket. Either CDR or Henderson (or Tolliver if they play him) needs to step up and provide more scoring from the wing.

Defensively, play MKG as much as you can. He made a very positive impact on LeBron. When he's not out there, Henderson should be on LeBron. CDR shouldn't be asked to guard him. The bigs have to do a better job defensively. We allowed way too much penetration into the middle and that led to wide open 3 pt shooters.

We need DJ White.

Greg Anthony will be calling this game. He likes us. I thought JVG would be tolerable but he was as annoying as Breen's Heat dickriding ass.
