This kid can run, jump and shoot whats not to like, my biggest problem is that if you watch UCLA he was invisible most of the time. If he was really misused like everyone seems to say then i am all for it but he seems like a major boom or bust pick.

Please use some other excuse to not draft him other than he's too thin. Stephen Curry looked like a fetus compared to LaVine coming into the league and he hasn't been broken in half yet. I don't think physical strength is as necessary in today's NBA as it used to be.

This guy could end up being an absolute stud or he could be a Gerald Green type when Boston drafted him. Tricky, tricky pick.

Boom or bust he is indeed. Similar to how I wanted Andre Drummond over MKG, but I was comfortable with Charlotte just selecting MKG over Drummond because there was less risk and I didn't trust the franchise's development of players, is the way how I view not taking Zach LaVine

LaVine has all of the skills to be the best player in this draft class, but he look like he could be mentally (and as overstated, physically) fragile if a team doesn't invest in putting him in a position to succeed on the floor. Clifford is so complacent & inflexible that I'd doubt that he'd instill the confidence or freedom into a player of LaVine's stature to make him the player he could be

He's not Westbrook and I don't see him aa a PG, but he's definitely my favorite prospect outside the top 7.

Yeah, I think the Westbrook comparisons are rather extreme. Could be a really good player though

There's some development work with him, just like how we are doing now with MKG and Biz, but this kid is coming in with a shot and a offensive game.

Personally, I wouldn't consider LaVine a project for the very reasons you aforementioned, but he is a makeshift prospect at this point that would need some grooming. I fear a scenario where Clifford would just completely take him off the ball, belittling his confidence, and he'd never live up to his potential

That's the reason why I prefer Young who has considerable upside and great length at the position, but even more importantly is a aggressive offensive player that'll take matters into his own hands regardless of coaching scheme. Young has a strong alpha approach to the game that'll make him a legit scorer in this league whether inefficient or not

Westbrook is a freak of nature. The fact that Lavine can only dunk or shoot 3's with no in-between to his game makes me think he will bust or end up like JR Smith. Talent, but never puts it together.

Agreed. I don't get the Westbrook comparison.

Then there's Reggie Miller.

I agree with your post.

Not sure how I feel about LaVine.

He does have some interesting shooting mechanics though.

Clifford wouldn't take advantage of his skill sets in a slow paced half court system. That's my only reasoning. Other than that, I think he has potential to be a star and one of the top-3 players of this draft class

The Sixers will select him at #10

I see him as a better Ben McLemore rather than Westbrook.

Chad Ford be the one throwing that dumb Westbrook comparison for Lavine. I always thought it was a stupid comparison.

Another idiotic comparison. Wroten can't shoot and Lavine got one of the sweetest strokes in this draft class. Where and why do they hire these unknowledgeable writers?
