Marvin is a great system player. He is a fantastic defender and is a consistent threat from 3. He would be a great addition for the Hornets as a player who has a low usage rate but can still score effectively when given the ball.

what's so terrible about Marvin other than he's an over-criticized Tarheel? We're not saying he's going to be a stud. He would be a solid backup at an appropriate price.

We already have one Tar Heel too many on the roster.

why do so many of you hate Marvin Williams? lol

he is a good role player that can play SF and PF and he can shoot pretty well, just a better Tolliver

He does get too much flak due to where he was picked and tar heal background.
looking at the numbers he has been consistently mediocre since his forth year, when he dropped off in production surprisingly when he added 3 point range.
he could be another tolliver for us, but seeing as tolliver worked, do we need another subpar 3/4 bench guy?

Williams would be an above average bench player. It's laughable that you guys think Tolliver is better, he isn't.

As a Jazz fan, I want Marvin Williams back and I'm willing to let Hayward walk. Marvin is more valuable at his price than Gordon Hayward is at max dollars.

THIS! Marvin at 4m is a much better deal compared to Hayward at 16m. Also could be an 8th man or so, letting MKG start & not hinder his development.

Hayward is a 3. I know he's weak to guard some 3's, but he's not quikc enough to guard most 2's, who really have the size & quickness of 1's now a days.

Sign MW, keep some flexibility, while improving your team. Plus your rooks are gonna both be good players, no need to go all in to be a 4-5 seed now, you guys can probably get the 5-6th seed next year anyways w/ MW & your rooks. Get a back up pg & you guys are set!

Walker- ?? - Neal
Hairston-Hendo
MKG-Williams - Taylor
Zeller-Vonleh
Jefferson-Biyombo - Haywood

:D :D There could be a blockbuster S/T in works with Utah for both Hayward and Williams..
It could be Henderson,Zellar,Neal 2015 1st for Hayward,Williams,(both S/T) and and fillins like Murphy and/or Thomas....This tryout of Williams also from Utah smells like a package sign and trade?  Stay tuned to the Rich Cho Real Gm Thread Network as the 2015 Hornet's roster develops. :eyebrows: :eyebrows: :crowded:

I would rather bring back CDR for wing depth at his price (cheaper than Marvin) and we already got Vonleh/Zeller at the 4 spot, I don't see the fit.

Im almost as saddened as you were last year when we signed Al, but this year guess what?! We get to sign Marvin Williams! Yay!

Im overexaggerating and completely upset.

Well as much as I'd like to be able to have a comeback to that you are right about Mr. Wide Open Fadeaway shooter.

Toronto sign James Johnson for 2-years/$5 million ($2.5 million annually), and we're going after Marvin Williams, and haven't re-signed CDR yet

Well they've used their cap space on Kyle Lowry and only have room for role players now. We're obviously tied up with Hayward for the next three days and I think it's likely we're going after Lance Stephenson and other pieces with our remaining cap space.
