OT: What Are You Watching Now? No Spoilers

A completely unexpected announcement has put me in a position where I can only do one thing and create this thread..

Since the music thread sparks some activity and great posts, I think a thread such as this one can exist as well, can't it?

I've been watched more tv shows in the last year than I would ever care to say. With the fall shows kicking in I have started more back on those instead of streaming. The list of what I've been DVRing and watching

How to Get Away With Murder- thriller, drama. first two episodes have been good, but it will get cheesy. I'm OK with having a show or two like that.

Gotham- first couple of episodes have been good. I'm a big Batman fan so I am interested in how they move forward with the villains

Forever- Interesting take on a cop/medical examiner drama. The medical examiner can't die, but he wants to so he uses the victims to try and figure out a way to become mortal.

Gracepoint- Really enjoyed the first episode last week. 10 episode series. Some big names in it Anna Gunn, David Tennant, Michael Pena.

The Blacklist- I like this show a lot. Don't know how long it can last though once the "surprise" is revealed to one of the characters.

Criminal Minds- starting to lose a little interest. storylines are getting old. Need to add a serial killer in there that lasts multiple episodes. JLH has lets say reinvigorated it some.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine- Cheesy comedy, but I really enjoy Andy Samberg.

AHS- Freak Show- Starts Wednesday, can't wait for this one.

Sons of Anarchy- Final season, blood baths await

Boardwalk Empire- this is the show I'm streaming, only in the first season. A little disappointed, but that could be because of how good the other HBO shows have been.

None of these are my favorites, though SOA could creep up into my list. Just the shows that are on tv right now that I am watching. Plenty more summer and spring shows that I also watch that I enjoy. I'm bummed about the quality of shows right now. With GOT not on right now this fall is pretty weak. No Breaking Bad, no Game of Thrones, no Americans. The top tier shows aren't up to par right now.

My current watch list - shows that are still running, in season or off season and older shows I am currently watching on Netflix, HBOgo etc...

Dramas

Hell On Wheels - probably my favorite show right now
Walking Dead
Mad Men
Halt and Catch Fire - doubt it returns for season 2
Turn - meh
Newsroom - only watching for Olivia Munn these days.
Game Of Thrones
Copper - Just started this BBC show on Netflix. I like it so far. Police drama set in NYC during end of Civil War.
Sons of Anarchy - Just waiting for the crap to end

Comedies
Brooklyn 99 - my favorite sitcom currently
Sunny in Philadelphia
Workaholics
Parks and Rec - barely hanging on
Veep
Silicon Valley

Mindless Reality Shows
Survivor
Utopia - hides in shame
Gold Rush - I love watching those idiots not find gold
Flip or Flop
Tosh.o - pretty much over this show but it shows up on my DVR each Tuesday. Too lazy to take it off.
Ridiculousness
Pawn Stars - will watch if its on and I have nothing else to watch
River Monsters - I will never swim in a lake or river again.

other than that, I spend the rest of my time watching documentaries and historical stuff and of course NBA, soccer and NFL.

Surely I am forgetting some stuff as well...

Sons of Anarchy has been pretty awful the last few years. I watch it begrudgingly.

Also watched first two episodes of Gotham, but not sure I will continue. I can't get into the Jada Smith character. Why is she even on the show?

My night isn't complete without watching at least 1 episode of King of the Hill.

Not currently watching any series at the moment, but I would highly recommend to you guys:

- Breaking Bad
- Oz
- The Shield

I haven't really enjoyed this season at all of SOA.

Something FINALLY happened in the last episode. It took too long to get there. Though I will say for 95% of tv shows the final season is all dependent on how it ends. The few great shows it doesn't matter, but I have a feeling SOA will be remembered like most on how it goes out.

I don't understand how the hell can you guys watch so many TV series at once. I suppose it's way different when your TV channels air them though.

I watched every episode up to the 4th season, i think which at the time was the most current, and I had to move/ got distracted and haven't watched it since, but I loved every episode except for few.

Did it really fall off that bad? Any way to explain what happened to the show without spoilers?

I'm into a ton of TV series, but not so much at the moment. I guess I've been watching a lot of @midnight and The Meltdown. Still watching Homeland, although it's been going downhill since season one. I'm hearing a lot of good things about The Knick.

Probably the next show that I will start watching. Steve Buscemi might be my favorite actor and that combined with the fact that it's an HBO series make it a show that I must to watch during my lifetime.

I suppose "Game of Thrones" is the best TV series I haven't seen but I have a feeling that I might not like it that much. First off, I'm a type of person who enjoys movies and TV about our world. No matter how good the movie might be, I'll be annoyed for the first 40 minutes that I have to dive in this whole new universe before I accept it. And, second off, from what I've heard it's more about the author and the whole game he plays with the characters and that they are almost solely used for plot twists more than it's about the characters themselves. I don't like the sound of that.

what I can ask to both of you is - are there really that much NBA-related jokes on it? It supposedly has a lot of jokes that reach a small sample of the audience, yet many of them are about the NBA or sports in general.

I watch a lot of TV. when I am not at work, I am watching TV and surfing the net. I pretty much don't do anything else. I am basically a hermit. I hate people. The only people I spend time with outside of work is my immediate family. Basically just give me fast internet connection, cable, a nice TV and a comfy chair or couch and I am good to go. I could do that in the middle of NYC or in a shack out in the middle of nowhere, doesn't matter to me - although it helps to have food nearby so I can eat.

I watched the first episode of HTGAWM, I wasn't that interested but the wife enjoyed it.

Gotham has been solid, not great, but it's pretty much been what I expected and I will continue to watch as I am a shameless fanboy. It comes on right before my wife's favorite show (Sleepy Hollow) so we watch both while I keep an eye on MNF on my phone.

The Blacklist I'm still behind on. I'm only like 6 episodes in but I'm really enjoying it thus far. Hopefully the twist(s) isn't/aren't as predictable as they seem.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine I really like as well. Again, fanboy, while it's not as good as Schur's other work (The Office, Parks and Rec) it's enough to keep me interested. Sidenote: I'm kinda bummed the new Parks and Rec doesn't come out until the new year.

My wife also loved AHS, up until now. She was really into it but seeing a clown in a commercial did her in, lol. I've never really been a fan though.

What else...

In the superhero vein, I've wanted to get caught up on Arrow and Shield, however I can't find the latter anywhere to stream, and I don't care enough to pie it. Also The Flash, but again I'm not caught up on Arrow.

I also really enjoy Mulaney's standup. That said I pretty much had already heard most of last night's Pilot as a result. Still pretty funny, but nothing too grabbing. I'll probably keep watching until it's inevitable cancel after six episodes.
