"Treadmill Team"

Sixers fan here,
I always came to the Hornets defense when people were deaming them a "treadmill team"
2 years ago you could say the same thing about Memphis or Atlanta..it's 2015 they are more than capable contenders. You can make an excuse for Memphis in that they are in perhaps the most stacked conference in NBA History as of right now if they dont make a Title run.
It's a Fact You can't win a title unless you have a dominant scorer with dominant go to moves.
For a Big that means Elite Size, Strength with quickness for size, with solid post moves
Think Moses Malone, Shaq, Cousins, Karl Malone
OR Elite size and agility touch, Hakeem, Kareem, young Tim Duncan
PRETENDERS
Big men who have the moves but are tied to the ground both vertically lacking explosiveness and can't makeup for it with quickness or ability to take guys off the dribble..pretend franchise stars. (Looking at you Al Jeff, Vucevic)
Bigmen who lack post polish and rely on athleticism and quickness to score...(Dwight, Patrick Ewing, Robinson)
Will never win a Title as long as they are the go to guy.
Bigs who have post moves but are not physically imposing enough to consistently establish deep position AND lack the explosive ability to take guys off the dribble...(Aldridge, Webber)
I'm sorry the mid range shot is the most inefficient shot in basketball..I want a guard like Kobe taking that shot not my Bigman who will automatically shoot lower % than your average NBA wing. It's nice to have a Big to stretch the floor but not as my number 1.
Wings
Athletic ability to finish, good shooter.
Must have elite ball handling ability..think ability to change direction twice in one sequence to get the the basket.
(Kobe, TMac, Iverson...)
They can compensate lack of ball handling with a dominant pivot/post game
(Paul Pierce, Melo, Gary Payton....reason LeBron didn't win a title until he developed a post game)
Prolific level shooter who can get off shot from anywhere at anytime, and can create for themselves.
(Dirk, Durant, Bird, Curry, Billups)
Pretenders
One Dimensional Elite level spot up shooters who really lack that dribbling ability to create for themselves
(Reggie Miller, Glenn Rice, Ray Allen)
Great athletes who can get to rim but lack elite ball handling
(Joe Johnson, Vince Carter, Jimmy Butler)
There a complete lack of True Number 1 Centers and Wings in the league.
Cousins and hopefully Embiid seem like the only true back to the basket elite options.
As for Guards/Wings you have LeBron, Durant, Curry, Harden, Lillard
Now for point guards you CAN win a title with someone with
- Elite level quickness/Penetration ability
- Dominant handles, elite ability to change pace
- Capable mid range game
- Good to Great Playmaker
Pretenders
Brandon Jennings - Finishes worse than a 15 yr old with his first girlfriend in his mothers basement
Rajon Rondo - Can't finish in crunch time, shies away from FT line..really costs team in clutch at moments.
Jrue Holiday - Talented perimeter skills, lacks ability to get to line or finish
John Wall - Still no ability to change pace..showed in playoffs and virtually against any good defense he plays
Tony Wroten - Talented and exciting but worst "feel for game" I've possible ever witnessed out of a PG
Eric Bledsoe - See Tony Wroten
Lance/Tyreke - Led footed, can get to rim an finish but lack that elite level quickness
Think Isaiah Thomas, Chris Paul, Gary Payton.
Mike Conley, Ty Lawson, Kyle Lowry, Jeff Teague...when building around someone like this its ideal that you foster a defensive minded club.
Memphis with Conley, Bad boy Pistons with Zeke. Tony Parker had San Antonio's D.
Billups although classified in the elite shooter category had the Wallace Bros.
Kemba is every bit as quick as anyone listed. Pretty damn good playmaker..we all know about the dribbling.
And...what do you know you guys are building an Defensive minded club.
Think about the "smartest teams in the league"
Spurs..and the East San Antonio..Atlanta.
Best player - Tony Parker, Jeff Teague...with a great defensive cast.
Hornets can possibly top those squads in terms of defensive ability
Noah Vonleh is going to be a stud. Easily can see him having a Chris Bosh career, maybe less mobile in pick and roll defense with more rim protection.
If Biyombo gets outa foul trouble your looking at a terror. MKG is basically a taller Tony Allen.
Kemba is feisty and has quick hands. Also have a trade piece in Al Jeff or Zeller down the road.
Just wanted to drop by and say..you guys are Doing it right.
It certainly helps to have a top pick and have a franchise level scorer like we potentially do with Embiid...but this is a point guard driven league. It's not even money ball, since PG's are some of the most skilled players in the league in this era.
Kings used to be my 2nd team because of my love for Boogie but I can't stand to watch that organization derail his prime. I Will be rooting for you guys. So I'm hoping on the bandwagon now...rant over...
