Re: GT: Heat @ Hornets Wed Jan 21 7PM EST
I would love if Kemba returns and we run a 2nd unit that includes both Lance + Al. The Heat have very little depth and we could smother them on D with the 1st unit and build a lead with the 2nd.

It's what I figured, precautionary.

I don't want to think about a world where we have to finish off this season without Kemba.

It'll happen sooner than we want if we keep playing him so many minutes.

Re: GT: Heat @ Hornets Wed Jan 21 7PM EST
Kemba will be fine. Him sitting a couple games was nothing more than precautionary since we were playing back-to-back teams of mediocrity. I believe he easily could've gutted through and played in both games but it wasn't necessary. Bumps & bruises are a part of the game. Everybody is injured in some shape or form. It just come down to the necessity of playing through it

I do think we needed to get him some rest. Hopefully the time on the court helped Roberts find a groove and with Lance in that second unit he has help with running the offense. This could result in more rest for Kemba and a fresher guard down the stretch.

Kemba Walker - PG
Gerald Henderson - SG
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist - SF
Cody Zeller - PF
Bismack Biyombo - C
Gary Neal - PG
Lance Stephenson - SG
PJ Hairston - SF
Marvin Williams - PF
Al Jefferson - C
How do you like that 2nd unit?
We are going to thrash teams like Miami who lack depth.

Doubt Neal is going to play over Roberts at PG. It's going to be interesting to see who gets minutes at the wing spots on the second line.

I don't think Brian Roberts fall out of the rotation in Clifford's way of thinking, and I agree considering that he's been better than Gary Neal. I wonder whom out of Neal or Hairston will get the raw deal. My guess is Neal

My guess is Hendo has a stranglehold on his starting spot and Lance is going to run offense on the 2nd unit. Lance's playmaking on the 2nd unit reduces Roberts' role and opens up minutes for Neal. Clifford said in the post-game after the Wolves game where Neal stepped up that Neal was getting targeted by opposing defense during his slump and other teams were trapping and doubling and treating him like a star (along with Kemba) when Al went out. Cliff has recently called him a high IQ player who ran the 2nd unit in Kemba's absence. Between Lance + Neal I think we see less Roberts.

You do know that Roberts has made more 3-pointers than Neal on the season, on top of that at a higher percentage, right?

Yes but Neal has a better all around game on offense and plays better than him off ball. I don't think Roberts will be wiped out - he will still be officially the backup PG but Neal is going to eat at his minutes with Lance running more offense. Cliff loves Neal. If Neal can give us what he gave at the beginning of the year he helps us more than Roberts.

I know that Clifford loves Neal, and I hate the fact that he do. Neal is a net negative detriment. Even though I'm not high on Roberts, he's contributed more to our win columns than Neal on the season. Also, I'd argue that Roberts is better off-the-ball than Neal since he's essentially one of our best catch-and-shoot players statistically
