I mostly focus on Mo Williams's passing, what makes him, perhaps, more interesting as a ball handler than Roberts
..and...
the history of our second round draft picks.

I think you are absolutely right that we don't seem to value the 2nd round as much as some teams and we have never really hit on a 2nd round pick that we've kept. None have become solid rotation guys.

I thought we gave up on Hollins too early. He has hung around for 9 years. Taylor was a decent find, but he was the 1st pick in the 2nd round, a little easier to hit than mid 2nd.

More than anything, I think our dealings with 2nd round picks highlights the lack of European scouting we have. We have never tried to use 2nd round picks to take chances on Euros that might not come over for a few years.

Also, perhaps part of our lack of interest in 2nd round picks is because, for the most part of the past decade we have had a very young roster featuring several recent rookies. Maybe we have felt that there just isn't room for that many young players at the end of the bench and we would rather use that space on a few vets for the locker room. For example, lets say we had two 2nd round picks in 2015. Would we really want to bring in 3 rookies next year to go along with all the guys we are still developing - MKG, Biz, Vonleh, Zeller, Hairston, Taylor...

I don't care about 2nd rounders, we end up selling them for cash if they're not traded away in deals like this one. If we keep a 2nd rounder, we have yet to hit on one that was really a difference-maker. Hollins, UPS, and Taylor have been okay at best in the NBA (that's generous). I'd rather have the experienced, productive vet at $4M a year than a struggling 40s pick that may or may not have a future as a role player. I think 2-3 months of Mo Williams and 1 1/2 years of Troy Daniels (at dirt-cheap salary) is terrific value for a complete unknown of a 2nd round pick 4 years from now.

I have a feeling that Mo is going to be a fan favorite, and that he is EXACTLY what we should've signed as a backup originally.

Dude, we've never hit on a 1st round pick and apart from Hobe, we haven't kept any of our 1st round picks.

Good luck with the 2nd's!!

BRJ's drives and spins were a thing of beauty.

Kid just couldn't finish at the rim or in the paint to save his life - and had no jump shot at all.

It s almost impossible to grab a good big man in the second round. I also agree with the above poster ( the above poster lmao) about that we have not drafted a good 1st yet. I also agree with the other above poster ( the other above poster lmao ) about us looking over seas for some picks in the second round. It is really hard to draft good players in the second round. I like trading them for cash sometimes like one of the above posters said lol

That's a great point. I wish I had thought of that.

Don't remember exactly where but Cho mentioned something to this degree the year we selected MKG.

MKG and Biyombo may also develop into a hit.
