Kings and Hornets

Kings trade
Stauskas
Landry

Hornets trade
Marvin Williams

Why Kings?
This move helps the Kings improve at PF

Why Hornets?
Stauskas had a rough rookie year but with a strong off season workout plan he can improve his strength and show his true potential. Hornets desperately need to add shooting which is Stauskas' specialty. This move is a low risk/high reward type move. Hezonja probably doesn't make it to #9.

That thread that makes us salivate about fantasy trade that'd make our team much better but won't happen... <3

This is not bad. Landry's contract sucks, it goes on another year past Marvin's, but the real question is whether Stauskas is really worth it. Stauskas definitely fits, but he could prove to be another Pargo without the veteran experience- someone who could shoot really well but sucked too much in every other aspect of the game to stay on the floor.

I like this trade if we can't trade back with OKC or Utah.

I'd aim higher than Marvin if you want to improve at PF. He is basically garbage.

I was referring to back up PF. Kings basically gift Stauskas for your troubles of Landry's contract. This only works for the Kings IF they sign a FA worth while...

No offense to your team but I think the Kings are definitely a team to take advantage of during the draft/free agency. How does Kemba Walker for Stauskas, 6, Landry sound.

Then trade 6 and whatever anyone wants besides 9, Vonleh, and MKG for Mudiay or Russell

Then draft whoever drops out of Hezonja, Stanley Johnson, and WCS at 9

The Kings need a power forward, wing defender, and an upgrade at point guard. If Winslow is there at 6 they won't trade the pick, the same for Russell. Unless they move up I think one of them will be there at 6, depending on who the Lakers pick. So I think we're more likely to be able to trade up with Denver at 7. They're in asset collection mode so I think a future 1st from us would get it done unless they're really in love with Hezonja or Johnson, in that case we're screwed.

Towns
Okafor
Mudiay
Winslow/Russell
Porzingis/Russell
Winslow/Russell/Porzingis
Hezonja (the newest Hornet)
Johnson
WCS/Looney (or whoever else Denver wants)

I do not think Hezonja is close to worth a second first round pick. I would trade a second but that is about as much as I do to jump slots. Wasting a pick like that just makes so little sense to me.

We should trade back then because the only way were realistically trading up is to offer a future 1st. I don't like Oubre or Johnson for us and if we pick WCS we'll let Biz go which will just set us back.

Trading is fine but trading just to trade is dumb. There has to be a plan and the value has to be there. Moving up 2 spots to get a guy who has a ton of questions at the price of a future first is not worth it. Moving back just to move is not worth it. Take Johnson if he is the best guy on the board and there are no good offers left or if someone badly wants up and offers good pieces then drop back and re-evaluate.

Johnson duplicates what MKG gives us too much for them to start together, the value is not there for us with him. The same is true of WCS and Biyombo, it's one or the other. Oubre is the only one of the 3 who makes any sense on our current roster.
