Might be a reach at 9, but I'd be cool with it.

He's got a damn solid build for an 18 year old 2 guard.

I really don't think we take him, but I won't be upset if we do. Very curious to see where he goes.

I don't think he has Klay Thomspon potential, but a Redick type player would be nice on this team. Would be totally fine if he was our pick

Redick type player would be amazing on this team.

Part of me hopes we can somehow get Hood from Utah and their 12th pick to draft Booker.

He can already dribble better than Redick could coming out. His game is better all around than JJ but his shot is a little behind IMO. He is also bigger and a better athlete.

That'd be nothing short of amazing.

If Booker eventually becomes the player Redick is right now I gladly take him at 9. Booker has more physical tools, but I'll take a guard like Redick right now at 9 easily.

I get the Thompson comps due to size and such, but Thompson blows Booker away defensively.

Thompson wasn't a good defender coming out of college either. I think if Booker puts on some weight and continues to get his body right he could develop into a decent defender.

If Utah is that desperate this would be an amazing trade.

Booker is my second choice behind Hezonja. Would be satisfied with him.

Here is what like about Booker:

He's SO young and he still has a lot of puppy fat on him and time for his body to mature - but the shape of his body is great. I can see him hitting the gym and really adding some tone and muscle to it over the first 2-4 years of his NBA career.

People compare him to Klay Thompson but I actually wonder if he might end up more of a Joe Johnson type after working on his body for a couple of years: A big, strong wing with a sweet stroke who plays under the rim and has high BBIQ. It would be great to see him add some post up to his offence.

I also think he would partner SO well with MKG. Booker could play SF on defence where his wingspan and foot speed might not be as much of an issue with MKG guarding the SG while on offence Booker could play SG using his size as an advantage with MKG playing the SF role.

The only problem with Booker that I see is that he needs to play with a PG who can help create some offence for him.

That, and his manscaping needs some attention. Those pit hairs are out of control and need some work.

All that said, I think I would be ok with taking him 9th overall (depending on what happens during workouts).

Devin Booker is a hard player to project. He had a good shooting season at Kentucky and was not asked to do a lot. He was good at what the team asked him to do, which was hit open shots. However, I just didnt see enough versatility out of him to garner a lottery selection. On a team full of great players and future NBA players he took a backseat role to harrison twins, Towns, WCS, Lyles, and even Ulis.

I just can not get excited over a player who is the 6th or 7th option even on a great team regardless of his production in points per game. I look at how often he touches the ball, how often he does something that leads to a good possession or where he is given the ball to get a bucket.

I know he has a good frame, good shooting mechanics and decently athletic, but what makes him any better than Troy Daniels? Daniels can hit wide open shots just like Booker and is actually probably a better shooter. I just don't think Booker projects as an elite scorer at the NBA level. He will be lucky to be as good as JJ Redick at the end of his career. Redick had a lot of time to develop at Duke and came into the NBA knowing what it was like to be the man, get his own shot, be the guy the defense is focused on stopping. Booker will never be that guy at the next level.

I would rather just give minutes to Hairston and Daniels than draft this guy with our only first round pick.

Good take JMAC. To a certain extent it seems like with these proposals to trade for Stauskas and Lamb and desire to draft guys like Booker or Hunter, we're really just desperate to find a perimeter shooter and we're willing to churn through guys until we find one. That's fair, but I do think our perimeter scoring options may already be on the roster (I'm higher on Hairston than most and think Daniels could be a nice fit as a gunner off the bench), and I'd rather draft a more well rounded player with scoring potential than a dedicated outside shooter with a narrow skill set and below average size and athleticism. It took Redick like five years to be a viable scoring threat, and he spent four years at Duke. Booker is not going to come in and light it up as a perimeter sniper.

Same. Not a big fan of him, and the reason is kind of hard for me to pinpoint.
