Some combine tweets:

Apparently Dekker has almost the same wingspan as Kaminsky, which I believe is longer than Winslow. Dekker also measured 6'9" in shoes. Interesting.

And check out Upshaw:

He has Whiteside written all over him.

I was thinking that Hollis-Jefferson would go before 20, but I think he has a chance to make the lottery and get drafted by the Thunder. If not the Hawks or Celtics will take him right after.

Booker is a solid lottery pick now with his measurements. If we can't trade up to get Hezonja I think we should just take Booker.

a couple 2nd rounders did pretty good at the combine.

Anthony Brown. 6' 8.5" with shoes, 6-11 wingspan. solid backup SF
Michael Qualls 6-5 with shoes, 7-0 wingspan. athletic freak, if he has skills he could be a steal.
Rakeem Christmas 6' 9.75" with shoes, 7-5 wingspan 9-2 reach if he wasn't so old he might be in consideration for a 1st round pick.

Tyler Harvey didn't do so great 6-4 with shoes and a tiny 6-5 wingspan. If he cant play PG he probably wont make it.

I think it's worth remembering what Cho said about his draft philosophy several years ago because I think he's largely stuck to it:

The must haves, the 4 C's: Guys who compete, guys with character, guys who have consistency, and guys who cover (play both ends of the floor).

The warning signs, the 4 S's: Guys who are slow, guys who are soft, guys who are stupid, or guys who are selfish.

Russell, Booker, Towns, Cauley-Stein, Winslow, Mudiay, Johnson, and possibly Hezonja all meet the desired traits. Oubre and Okafor do not.

He's drafted a couple people who couldn't play offense at all when we drafted them. And still struggle to, to an extent in MKG, and especially Biyombo. I think that is just GM talk. Every GM would like to draft a player with all 4 of those C's. Doesn't always happen though, unfortunately.

Other than "compete", is Hairston any of these?

I know it's a long-shot, but what if Justise Winslow fell to us at 9?

Crazier stuff has happened. There's always at least one guy that falls and there's always teams that reach for random players. Just looking at the DraftExpress mock, they have him going 6th, so it doesn't seem absolutely impossible. I know the order is going to change, but let's just say SAC takes Porzingis at 6, DEN takes Mario at 7, and DET does something crazy like take Frank at 8... ah nevermind I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Lol. He was OK on the defensive end for spurts. But consistency, and character? That's ridiculous.

Hairston is obviously the exception, but every other pick Cho has made had most of the characteristics he's looking for and few if any of the warning signs. And given that we have picked guy(s) in the past that struggle offensively I think it's a sign that we're willing to waver a bit on the last C-cover. We just want to make sure guys at the very least compete on both ends and are athletic and hard working enough to eventually round out their games. It's a good sign that we will seriously consider Booker at 9 I think.

I think "cover" includes potential to be a two-way player.

I think PJ checks off 3 of the "4 C's" compete, cover and consistency.

yep PJ was actually pretty consistent in the D-League and at UNC his sophomore year.

I doubt Denver or Detriot both pass on him when they both need a wing . Would love if it happened .

Hey, Vonleh fell to #9 last year after being pretty much a consensus top 6. Nobody here even talked about him because there was no chance he was falling that far. The year before, Andre Drummond fell to #9 after most expected him to go top 6. It's possible, but there's very little chance of that happening. If he falls past #6, Denver will take him at #7 or Detroit will take him at #8. That's pretty obvious. If we want a chance, I think we've got to move up to #6.

After watching him struggle through that segment, there's no way he actually put together that mock. There's also about a 50/50 chance that he'd never even seen it before. That was painful.

That vert combined with his silky smooth shot is someone we should consider if we were to trade down or add a late first rounder somehow.
