Serious question. Is Batum the worst player on the team? Not even kidding like he is legit the worst player we have. I just want this nightmare to end

He's definitely the worst production per dollar guy.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I really hope the only reason he still get playing time is because they don't want to harm his trade value. If we won't trade him by the trade deadline, then we'll can call it nightmare.

Thank Christ Vonleh is a bust or it would have been even more salt on the wound.

How does he look at his teammates in the locker room after the game when they loose by a few baskets and he only had 4 points? Kemba has to be ready to kill this guy seriously. Get this guy the f*** outta here asap. He single handedly turned this season into the worst season in the recent bobcats/hornets era. At least when we were losing in 2010-2014 that was expected. We were tanking. But now we were actually trying to be competitive and we are just as bad as our tanking seasons.

There's a legitimate argument with statistical backing that Batum could be the worst player in the rotation sans MCW if you used the win shares per minute metric

As the losing record grows, so does the pressure. Or should. Problem is, millions of Benjamins supply pretty good insulation against stuff like that.

I wonder if blase' is a French word?

You mean jaded in french ? If so, that's "blasé"

Not sure anyone wants to learn french at that point though. He is a true embarrassment for everyone.

No clue how long it will take the Hornets to recover from this, i feel bad considering the shape of this franchise when Lin & Lee (among others) left in free agency.

As for his teammates, for watching Kemba's reactions often (at least when he is on focus), he already looked pissed at Batum a few times (not just him though, to be honnest). Howard reaction on his quaterback pass (that Batum could not control) was significative otoh. Pretty sure he did it on purpose (he probably remembers the "Turkoglu" stuff..).

Actually yesterday i really thought he would not play him in the 4th and his playing time is probably an all time low. Lamb had 5fouls too & MKG was also in foul trouble for what i recall. Also Monk was back in the rotation before Batum in the 2nd half.

At the very least he should not be closing games. It's much worst than the debate about starting or not. Crunch time needs you to play your most reliable line up if you really intend to win games, and this mean you can't play him in the 4th (unless injury/foul trouble).

It's far beyond that. Put the money to the side he is still our worst player. You fill those 33 minutes he played last night with legit anyone else on this roster and I guarantee they would have put up more that 4 and 1. And it's not like it's the first time. This is becoming the norm for him. He is legit our worst player and is also the highest paid.
I can honestly say this franchise is at Rock bottom and it's time for Kemba to go before we waste all of his prime years. Such a shame how it came to this point all because of that soft useless POS that has no heart or a competitive bone in his body

Let’s be clear that MCW is still easily the worst player on the team lol but Batum has been trying to compete for that title lately. Let’s just say that Batum is prolly the second worst player in the rotation. I’d trust MKG with the ball on offense before him nowadays.

That's fair. But its pretty close imo... In the last two weeks, Batum has been thrown out of plays by screens more than any 'defensive' guy I've ever seen. My biggest problem with MCW's defense has been his fouling, but even then he's coming off the bench for 16 minutes-ish so his aggression is warranted in many cases.

One thing I think the numbers miss is how much responsibility we continue to give Batum. If Kemba is gonna get worn out on defense, we give him the easy cover. If Marvin is getting smothered on the perimeter, we run more dives for him. If Lamb is feeling it, we give him more looks on the wing and let him initiate on his on pace rather than looking to work off-ball.

Batum? He's trash. And he's the worst kind of trash too. The kind that can't do anything but drags everyone else down because they have to pick up his slack and work harder doing things they're not supposed to do. And its the complete inactivity that throws me. I'd rather see him pull a Stephen Jackson and go 1/28 than casually dump it down to Dwight 15 feet out - where HE should be posting up his smaller defenders.

I’m looking forward to this video lol. Even funnier because Batum usually gets to guard the worst wing on the floor.

that's exactly what I saw in the a few games I watched this season... he has been lazy all around, struggling on offense is one thing, giving no effort on defense is unforgivable... If I were the coach, I'd have chewed his ass out....

God I called that back screen on Kemba in the game thread as it happened

PJ Hairston would've caught an atomic elbow if he did that

That's nothing. I remember the GSW game few weeks ago. The first few possessions were the worst defense I have ever seen on my life. Didn't even fight through the screens he literally gave up and left Klay open for a few 3s I'm the first few minutes. Cliff wold have blew a gasket
