Some of your old thoughts about our new NBA mvp Stephen Curry

Post#1 » by dre4bobcats » Sun Jun 28, 2015 9:44 am

I remember the discussions we had a long time ago about bringing the hometown kid to charlotte. I mentioned that we should have traded for a guy like steph curry 3 years ago in one of the older threads. Most of these quotes came from the thread about Trading the #2 pick (later became MKG)

My quote from summer 2012 (MKG draft year)
"possible Players we have a realistic shot at getting via Trade
Deng, Boozer, Steph Curry, Kevin Martin, Scola, Millsap or Jefferson, Rudy Gay, Josh Smith, Amare, Calderon, Hansbrough, Marion"

It is crazy how all of those players but one switched teams since then. And we landed one out of the list LOL

I admit, A few of those guys would have been disasters on this team, but curry was the first guard i thought about for a reason. Hometown kid, could have got him for a low price because of his injuries. GSW had ellis and couldnt play the two together.

Now some quotes from some of you guys (It was too much of a headache to try and "quote" each post...sorry)

steph curry - the warriors see the writing on the wall and decide they cant afford to pin their hopes on curry's ankle. they look to fill his spot with a free agent in the summer. they are scared to give curry big money when his contract is up. the bobcats jump at the chance to land a player who, when healthy is better than anything other than davis in this draft. the added bonus of being able to resign curry makes them gamble on the ankle (after getting inside info from dell that the ankle is good to go). maybe expand the deal to include kemba heading back to GS with their pick coming back to charlotte. something like curry + #7 to charlotte for kemba + #2 to GS.

Before his injuries, I'd be all over trading for him. But this is his second year in a row with the same injuries and it doesn't seem to be getting better. I'd probably stay away

Get Golden State to throw in my man Charles Jenkins and I love this deal if Curry accepts a sixth-man role. He's too fragile to play 35-40 minutes a night

Only "realistic' players i'd trade the #2-4 are

1) Bynum
2) Cousins
3) Wall
4) Curry + 2 future first rounders
5) trade down

Best scenario would be to trade #2 for Player & Late Lotto Pick. Steph Curry would be nice.... but I doubt they'd trade him. They traded Monta for a reason. GSW = Currys team

Curry - I would definitely trade for him.

:nonono:  Sorry Guys. Curry is hurt product stay away

Three years ago he was a risk, or a part of a package for the #2 pick..As Cam Newton would say "hindsight is always 50/50" LOL

HA!! I still had faith, even when his ankle was made of mashed potatoes. Sorry MKG.

The only thought that come to my mind is that Minnesota drafted consecutive PGs in front of Steph Curry with Ricky Rubio and Jonny Flynn. Ayyyyoo.
