By my math, giving Biz a contract equivalent to the Biannual Exception ($3,623,000) gets them to $4,049,311 in space.

It's not likely to actually *be* the Biannual Exception, but that's what was likely agreed upon when it wasn't certain that they'd have capspace or not.

I'm hoping it's just a one year deal.

I was close, Richards got a slight bump, too:

$3.6 million seems like a bit of an overpay for Biz but if it's for one year who cares

With Spencer Dinwiddie out for the year with an ACL tear, was Biyombo responsible for the injury last night? It looks to me like he stepped on Dinwiddie's right foot.

He definitely is to blame for the Jeff Green injury. He did not get a tech for it, however. If I recall correctly, the officials went back and looked at the tape.

I know Biyombo gets a lot of flack, for many reasons, but I thought he played an outstanding game against Phoenix tonight. He really clogged up the middle, brought down some key rebounds, and set up players with his screens on the perimeter. His performance against one of the top teams in the league was crucial with Zeller out with an injury in the second half.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one, I was worried I might be like a Lin fan looking at my player through rose coloured glasses. He definitely has his faults, but he brings positive things as well

Yeah, I'm glad we brought Biz back. He's done about as well as anyone could have expected and seems like a great veteran mentor to boot.

I hope we sign this dude to our coaching staff once he retires.

We can all agree that we all love Biz.

That being said, the fact that he's starting tonight is unacceptable.

I find it hard to believe considering we already have 4 centers under contract, and another PF that is likely to get C minutes when we want to space the floor. That's a lot of wasted roster spots and we all saw how wasting several roster spots last year worked out for us, we had no depth when injuries hit.

You’d think he’d have to be in the NBA to do that!

He’s not signed on a team yet - is he?

Lol. Was thinking the same thing.

Is Biz actually a good pick?

He has had a pretty good NBA career at this point.
Just signed with Memphis and is entering year 13.

No. I don't think so. Still can't be considered "good". A career journeyman backup center at #7. He wasn't a total bust, but not good. But I'll always love him. He's a treasure. If only he had better hands.
