High character guy, always plays hard and will always protect the rim. I’m glad to have him back.

Can't find the Diop crossover/shimmy gif but I think Biz we need something as memeable as that to claim the throne.

I was thinking about that and did great turnaround jumper in his first game against Dwight. It was like a weird dream shake he hit.

We should start an official Biyombo fan club. Dude will have been affiliated with this city/team for a decade coming up this summer.

Funnily enough, I also met my wife in 2011. That was a good year.

I looked at the replies to the tweet Biz posted yesterday with the "call me" .gif and it was a bunch of Raptors fans being like "Please come back to Toronto WE LOVE YOU" lol. Dude just has a way with the fans.

Interesting that Biz's salary numbers haven't been leaked.

My guess it is just the Vet Minimum based on what everyone else is signing for.

Would be pretty disappointing if we give him the 4.7 MLE we have available.

We have his Bird Rights, so the MLE won't be necessary to sign him.

I also think they may try to operate as an over-the-cap team. Biz won't cost nearly this much, but his cap hold is $25.5M. Right now their cap holds and salaries put them at around $124M. With the cap at about $109M, losing Biz would force them to be a capspace team, and thus cut their MLE in half.

Locking down Biz now - but not officially signing him - keeps them over the cap until a potential Hayward sign-and-trade can be completed. Should be have signed elsewhere, that cap hold would instantly vanish.

Once the Hayward situation shakes out they can sign Biz with Bird Rights and keep the higher MLE.

Vet minimum he's good value. Anything else would be an overpay.

The shot I was talking about is at the minute mark. A shot you wouldn’t expect him to take now he made in his rookie season

we'd have to renounce Biz to sign Hayward unless we're sending so much back in a S&T that it just works as a trade, in which case we'd have lots of cap space for Biz and other signings. We'd have to renounce Biz or sign him with cap space to make any free agent signing at all though, since he's coming off a $17M contract

Fair point, and it's unlikely Boston goes for that as the main appeal to them seems to be the TPE.

Good locker room guy. I'm glad to have him back.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
