Was hoping spurs would play tonight and they'd be on a back to back. They arent. Didn't play last night either. Will be fully rested.

It would be something if we can get back to 0.500 against the Spurs. Oddly enough, based on the way we played the past two games, I think that's a real possibility. Love the way our team is playing, and love the depth. You never know who's going to explode on a nightly basis, and so many of our players can do that.

I think the opposing teams defense the last two games has been almost non existent. The only player that's really shown any aggression was Harris last night when he was fouling Lin near mid court and eventually produced a dumb travel call.
I expect this game to look more like the first 3 games than the last two.

Key would be for Marv to slow down LMA who isn't really comfortable in his new team yet.

It looks better and better every game. I think getting into payoff as top 4 wouldn't be difficult as many expected.

Spurs seems beatable if you consider we have so many missing easy shots against Mavs except AL.

Kawhi often guards the best scorer in the opponent team. Will be interesting to see who he choose... Kawhi has guarded Lin and got the ball off Lin's hand in back to back possessions. (Oh yeah he has done the same to Curry)

Yes, it would be big to get back to .500 after the deflating 0-3 start, but I'm not sure if it will happen here. It's against the Spurs and coach Pop, after all. Let's hope for the best.

I'm sure he'll be on Batum.

If I was Pop, I would put Kawhi on Batum and it would be an easy choice. Take Batum out of the offense. Force Kemba/Lin to initiate the offense w/out the safety valve of Batum.

We match up decently against them
Kemba / Parker
PJ / Green ( they have similair styles)
Batum / K L
Marvin / LA (marvin can take him beyond 3)
Al / Duncan (al can play him close to even)

Re: GT: Hornets vs Spurs Sat Nov7 8:30PM EST
I looked up Batum's numbers so far, and surprisingly his TS% is .507, which is even lower than Kemba's .514
His 3P% is .308
His 3P% last year was .324, his career low.
I expect his 3P% to improve but it's a question mark whether he can shoot at a consistent level this season.

Re: GT: Hornets vs Spurs Sat Nov7 8:30PM EST
I remember someone mentioning that Clifford was trying to institute a "get the ball over half-court under 4 seconds" system to speed up the offense but I feel like the Hornets are very slow and deliberate about bringing the ball, to the point where it kills any possibility of a fast break. Is anyone else seeing this?

Re: GT: Hornets vs Spurs Sat Nov7 8:30PM EST
Is that in a recent interview? I'd like to hear him say that.
I def agree. They outlet the pass from the defensive rebound too slowly, and there's not a sense of urgency pushing it.
Against senior citizen Mavs, there should have been more transition opportunities than were actually created.
According to NBA.com, the fastbreak pts against the mavs was only 4! That doesn't include FTs from fouls in transition, such as Cody getting wacked by DWill, but 4 FB pts is still pathetically small.

He was doing that during training camp.

You are definitely right, we have finished at or near the bottom of the league in transition offense every year under Cliff. I heard him say in an interview recently that he wants more because he wants more easy baskets, but we have a long way to go.

Its a lot better this year. That should tell you something about how slow its been in the past two years and how far we still need to go to really play at a pace that suits our team. Kemba has been notoriously bad about walking the ball of the floor.
