Charlotte Hornets (14-8) vs. Boston Celtics (13-10)

We're coming off a blow-out win at Memphis. They're fresh off a double overtime loss against the Warriors. Let's hope that the home court and fresher legs tilt the scales our way. The Celtics are built for the regular season though and might be even deeper than our team.

Man Najera had some big ass balls. What a great role player he was.

It will be a tough game. The Celtics match us well. It depends to our bench to outscore their bench. Their bench isn't good as before because Isiah Thomas has moved to the starter spot.

We need to play better than usual because they can neutralize our depth. We need to make our open shots. It could be a struggle to put together good possessions so we can't be missing wide open threes, with fewer good possessions to go around. Can't botch them.

from the game recap

The Boston Celtics were short-handed, weary and lacking energy following a difficult stretch of games when Kevin Garnett leveled an elbow into Eduardo Najera's face.
The intimidation attempt didn't work against the Charlotte Bobcats.
"I just told him he hits like my grandma," Najera said.

I hate our matchup with Boston. They probably matchup with us better than any team in the East, sans Cleveland. They have great defensive perimeter players to cover Kemba, Lin and Batum. They have the depth to outscore our bench. Just gotta hope we catch them with dead legs and our shots are still raining from last night. and for **** sake, we can let Kelly Olynyk drop 28 on us.

Olynyk has averaged 21 over the last 3 games.

their bigs are probably good match up for Zeller, he can chase them around the perimeter

I think in no particular order: Hornets, Boston, Cleveland, and Indiana are the four best teams in the east.

Random facts about Boston:

They attempt the third most threes per game (28.3) but are ranked 23rd in 3PT% (33.1%).

They are an excellent offensive rebounding team (6th highest ORB%) but a poor defensive rebounding team (ranked 28th in DRB%).

BOS likes to play at a fast pace (ranked 4th).

Jeremy Lin went full Linsanity on the Celtics, setting a new season-high with 25 points on 10-0f-15 shooting. The Harvard product, who set the basketball world on fire once upon a time with the New York Knicks, is averaging a mere 10.4 points per game this season, but he looked simply unguardable at times against the C’s. Lin made life especially difficult for Celtics rookie Marcus Smart, who shot at least one glare in the guard’s direction. “I thought Jeremy Lin killed us the whole night,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens told reporters after the game. “But I thought he was really effective in a lot of ways — not only scoring the ball, but also getting into the paint and making plays for others.”

I think it could be a right order.

Man, IT is paid like 7 millions/year for this year, then 6.5 million next year, 6.2 million next year....talking about a bargain, smh....
IT's got the contract after a 20/6 in a bad SAC team, everybody said he is undersized, a defensive liability, but my eyes told me he fights really hard, is decent in Stevens scheme...he hit the FA market at the wrong time...

Boston was really good last year, they just lacked any semblance of a rim protector with Zeller starting, who doesnt even play anymore. Now that they have Amir Johnson who I think is criminally underrated, there defense is just sick it's taken a little drop recently because of the loss of Marcus Smart but its still really good. I think Boston is the only team in the east that averages more points then us as well.

Hornets looks like unstoppable. I just hope Cliff can balance the team workload well and keep players healthy, fresh and efficient. Prediction: 110:100 Hornets win.

Looks like a good game (but not that good for you all I hope ;) ). hoping the Cs can bounce back from a disappointing double OT loss. Crowder and IT played huge minutes, Smart is out and you guys look really really good. Pretty concerned about this one. cheers

I want to win this game so bad, mostly because of Bill Simmons.

It would be kind of fun for Frank to drop a line like 15 pts, 5 boards, 6 asts tonight. It'll be really interesting to see how he matches up with Olynyk / TZeller.

I expect Cody to bounce back. In our three games against BOS last season, Cody averaged 13.3 ppg (on 71% FG) and 5.3 boards.
