Two days off will give the guys some time to rest and heal and time for Clifford to get this defense semi-sorted out.

Hope we get it figured out, we only have two days off before LAC, then a B2B with DEN, then two days off before ATL.

Then comes the grinder - starting Jan. 15, we have 9 games in 17 days, 6 of which are on the road but fortunately only 1 of which is against a team that is currently a playoff team.

I agree with Cliff that there are guys on the team who care more about scoring than playing D, but I don't think that punishing them with fewer minutes will, by itself, solve the problem.

Cliff always talks about guys focusing on one thing at a time when struggling. The main thing this game to focus on would be to not give up more than 10 3's.

In one half...

some of that was giving up open looks, some of that was simply suns shooting ridiculously well. can't control the latter.

Thats fair. the Clippers went 15-30 from 3 last game against us. Improving on that should be the major goal especially with an extra day to prepare.

Hard to reduce minutes when you don't have enough living bodies. Lin was obviously playing on bad ankle last couple games (look at how he keeps falling down on drives.) let's hope this changes .

The Clippers have been playing a lot better lately with Griffin out strangely, but they are a beatable team.

Granted, this team have been atrocious on the road so far this year.

That's true except for Lamb. Lamb is the only rotation guy on this team who is readily replaceable, that's why Cliff has made him the whipping boy for bad defense. Calls him out in games, and takes away his minutes. But everyone else, they are not easily replaceable.

Benching for low effort or defensive mistakes has been something of a double standard. Only Lamb gets the real brunt of it.

Lamb gets dinged and so does Hawes in terms of playing time. Well, PJ got 35 min last game. That has to come at the expense of Lin, Lamb or Williams. PJ can't really replace anyone else. So of the three names mentioned Lamb is the easiest to blame since the other two were pretty solid on D.

Weird that so many teams shoot 50% or better against us. That can't continue.

sorry but this game is an L....lets list the injuries first: Batum with toe sprain, lin with ankle sprain, lamb with wrist injury, kemba with sore knees

I forgot to mention, big Al out for 2 months due to minor surgery, mkg out with shoulder recovery

Cliff needs to learn a valuable lesson in minutes management, and also teach his players how to minimize chances of injuries while playing or flopping.

I want to see something different this game. Instead of PJ or Marv hoisting up 3s at the start, why not Kemba or Lin establish Cody? It's obvious Nic would look for and find Cody and get him going, one of or both of Kemba and Lin can do the same thing. Also, look for the mid-range more. But somebody needs to try to play a post game. Also, I hope Kemba can get more baskets cutting and other guys. Whoever is physically capable of doing so should.

PJ and Cody have to watch fouls. PJ will be playing Redick, then Lin. Fouler and faller now.

I think Paul may pick apart the defense and we'll see another angry Cliff. I hope not. But Paul didn't go crazy in the last game from what I remember. Clippers aren't like GSW or Thunder, they let up and make mistakes and can play below their talent level. I hope Lin can draw fouls on D Jordan but, refs don't seem to give Lin all the fouls they could. Frank will play a better game than last game, but I'm getting tired of the pump fake.

Wonder if Troy will be used more. Cliff seems very down on Lamb, plus he's banged up anyway. Hopefully Nic can play and play OK. Hopefully Lin can stay on his feet and drive better. Time for a win. It's possible.

Hornets aren't the only team with injury, nor are they known for flopping. Look at the guys playing tonight, they are known for it. Suns have Bledsoe out with a season-ending injury. Griffin is out for awhile due to injury. Only Kemba and Batum have logged in big minutes, everyone else has reasonable minutes. And Cliff wants to scale back their minutes, but look at what's left. Lin's can go up, but he's injured and Frank's are going up. Lamb's can't because his defense is terrible.

Reminder for those who are awesome enough to participate on the Hammer voting each game (please continue to do so, Its a tradition).

While we encourage everyone to vote, even fans from the opposing team, we do have some strict guidelines about which votes will be counted. Just keep in mind the following:

- Votes must have a best, second best and third best.
- If you do not list 3 players your vote will not count.
- If you list more than 3 players your vote will not count.
- If you list a tie your vote will not count.
- Votes for anything other than our players will not count.
- Obvious joke votes will not count.

Teletovic looked like Curry last game. Not sure if it was our defense or he was just en fuego.
