Hornets interested in Bojan Bogdanovic
GM Billy King is conceding privately what we all know: The Nets aren’t making the playoffs. So it’s time to start breaking up the team. So far, Charlotte has called to try to deal for Bojan Bogdanovic, the team’s top 3-point marksman, Sporting News has learned.

Trade, Bojan Bogdanovic, Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets

FWIW, Bojan has 2 years left at ~3.5mil, then a QO of ~4.5.

We could trade them Roberts for Bojan. It would free up 3.5mil in salary for the Nets this summer.

Meh.

Any other trades would require multiple players

I'd be all over this

Just posted that in the trade thread. For BRK he's been an underwhelming shooter and he's not a great defender, so honestly I'm not sure what the thought process is there.

Maybe Harrison has been doing well in practice and they are ok rolling with him as a third PG?

Why would we need this guy?

I'm confused.

Is he suppose to take Lambs minutes or something?

I know this might sound weird to you, but back in Europe, Bojan is considered a star player(both team and NT) while Batum was merely role player for his respective NT.In no way to diminish talents of both guys, just to get perspective that Bojan is not just some scrub from Nets, but can be valuable player in right system.I think I've seen some video of Clifford few years ago when asked about Eurobasket competition, before Bojan even came to NBA, that he knew about him and thought he belong to NBA.

I am sorry if i was brief, i could write more about him if you like.

I kind of agree. He's definitely assertive and BK's system is not meant for a guy like him.

I'd love to see him replace PJ

I like Hairston right where hes at. Until MKG comes back anyway.

He's better than PJ at everything tbh.

I like PJ, but the odds us keeping him past this year are low.

He played 2,3 even stretch 4 in some limited minutes for Nets, he never had consistent role and minutes, sometimes he started, sometimes he is on the bench having 20 minutes, sometimes he was playing only garbage time, sometimes he was playing with a ball, sometimes w/o it just as a catch and shoot player. He was often all over the place because those changes were happening basically game to game basis.Considering cap rise, his contract is very cheap and he could always be spark from the bench for a reasonable price.

Bojan was never known as some lockdown defender, but he was also never negative in that area.He always understood concept of team defense(and he played for some very good and hard nosed defensive coaches) and stick to it.What recommended Bojan for NBA is his offensive versatility, not just 3pt shooting, he can play with a ball in his hands, create of the dribble, you can run screens for him off the ball, he can post up smaller defenders and finish over them, he plays good off the ball and makes good cuts to the basket, he can be 3pt specialist, basically a very gifted scorer despite lack of elite athleticism.

Even when we had a healthy MKG and recently-acquired Lamb and Batum, we were still after a 4th wing: Belinelli and Alan Anderson that we know of. This is backed up by the decision to decline PJ's option, but the MKG injury forced Clifford's hand.

I'm not sure if this would mean anything for PJ though, he's been MKG's placeholder for so long I'm not sure I see anything changing that.

Agreed. I think it would mean a lot for Lamb, though.

Dealing with Billy King is usually a very efficient use of our time at least!

"Man, that European dude that used to play for the Nets torched us last night. Oh hey, the Nets still have a European dude that just shoots threes too, let's see if they want Brian Roberts for him."
