Open Roster Spot?

Post#1 » by fatlever » Thu Feb 18, 2016 9:13 pm

We have an open roster spot after the Lee trade.

Should we wait to see if any buyout players fit our team or should we start looking at the D-League ASAP for a 15th player?

wait for buyouts, and then D-League.

anyone know of any potential buyouts? JJ and Lee are two that come to mind but we have no use for either of them

cho said we will get a 3rd PG via D-League, any good ones?

Wouldn't be surprised if we brought in Jimmer Fredette for kicks and giggles

Apparently Johnson wants to stay in Brooklyn long term, but he'd be worth a look. Lee seems redundant if Al is finally healthy. Varejao is supposed to be cut by Portland.

Not really great options, but we do still have the MLE.

Hornets still have an unspent MLE to aid in picking up any post-buyout possibilities.

Hickson likely to be bought out.

David Lee? He's a hard worker, decent passer, scrappy rebounder.

Lorenzo Brown? Big 3rd PG, can defend 1-3 depending on matchup.

EDIT: Duh. Appears he's on the Suns roster?

Good defender - wouldn't mind seeing him at the end of the bench.

I wouldn't mind any of the names listed in this thread except Jimmer.

I'm actually wondering how Aaron Harrison is coming along in practice. Weren't people high on him during summer league as potential backup PG?

I would go straight to Dleaugue and get this guy:

http://dleague.nba.com/player/ronald-roberts-jr/

1. He is an insane leaper that could jump off a building.

In the NBA work out , they said the meter could not capture his jump. He is like Aarron Gordon.

2. Great Pick N Roll Guy

3. Great Rebounder and shot blocker. ( your future NBA slam dunk champion )

4. Great pairing with Jeremy Lin for fast break.

5. He suppose to make it to the 15 man roster spot with Raptors but the GM decided to go with a Canadian instead of him.

Joe Johnson would give that second unit a SF and help preserve Batum for the long haul.

The MLE we've been holding onto gradually loses value each day. What started out at $5.464M will be worth - by my math - about $4.164M tomorrow morning. It will continue to decline in value by $32,141 each day until the season ends.

Only players cut/bought out by March 1 maintain their playoff eligibility. At that point our exception will be worth $3,824,800; which is still a nice alternative to taking a minimum salary offer.

It's got to be a PG. We could be a minor injury to Lin or Kemba away from missing the playoffs.
