I wish he'd just be up front about it and say, "Look, we're going to draft a UNC player or a skinny white PF/C. It's what we do, and when we bring these other guys in, it's solely to give them a chance to audition for other teams. But I'm sure that THIS year we'll get the UNC player or white PF/C who will be a star."

Robert Carter? I'd be totally fine with that in the 2nd. He's one of the most skilled bigs in the draft.

95% chance I show up for the local player draft for our D league team.

Items of note from the presser:

1 more workout on Sunday then they are done.

Feels like its a deep draft will get a good player at #22 but looking at options. Maybe moving out of the draft all together.

Pressing needs - 8 free agents. Need to deal with that.

Hard to get guys to come in for a workout when you are on the back end of the draft. All agents think their clients will go higher.

Looking to stock the roster for the Swarm. Expansion draft in Aug. 3 expansion team, each team will select from the x-draft. Local player tryouts in the fall. Hopes to have 2 or 3 players traveling back and forth from the NBA to the D during the season.

Prefer drafting guys who have experience - but wouldn't stereotype their preference. Look for hard workers, guys who play with a high level of competitiveness, good team mates and who play both ends of the floor.

Sean Brooks was offered the HC job of the Swarm before passing away. Week after the draft will be interviewing again to fill the role.

Hornets coaching staff should all remain for next season.

Draft class is strong with combo guards and wing spots. A number of good bigs as well.

Thinks there will be a lot of money thrown around this summer because of the cap jump but it's hard to say how much. We'll see some things that will surprise us.

Bats is #1 priority. Hope to meet with him as soon as free agency starts.

Doesn't want to offend any other guys so wont name who the 2nd priority is - but what happens with Bats will dictate the balance of the other FA's.

All in all it was a pretty soft, uninformative presser.

Dude, he said open try out.

You should TOTALLY sign up. That would be amazing.

Not a single question about Al Jefferson, not sure how that is possible.

I'm actually somewhat serious. Why not?

Might show up dressed as this guy:

Or maybe a perfect match of the outfit Woody Harrelson wore in White Men Can't Jump.
