Read on Twitter

Middle school teacher Nick Gurol says that his students told him that the Earth is flat because Kyrie Irving said so. He thought he failed his students because they believed the Earth is flat just because a basketball star said it.

I really hate it when athletes or celebrities use their platform to spew their stupidity and influence young, gullible kids.

Gerald Henderson is about to have his third hip surgery since 2011, and is expected to miss all of next season. Feel bad for him.

You have to wonder if his inability to secure a long-term contract somewhere had to do with team doctors red-flagging that hip. He just hasn't looked the same since the second one (right after we traded him)

"Despite receiving genuine interest from several NBA teams, I have made the decision to continue to evaluate surgical options on my left hip," Henderson said in a statement from his agency, via Hoops Hype. "I have been playing through severe pain that has made it difficult to play to the best of my ability. Now the pain has started to impact my everyday life off the court."

We should've gave Hendo a extension.

The NBA has outlined changes to their schedule in a memo to all 30 teams.

After a series of high-profile players didn't play in major matchups last season, the new schedule protects key national television matchups to make sure teams aren't playing on back-to-back nights. The schedule also hopefully reduces the risk of injury.

The NBA is moving up the start of the regular season by one week.

Some of the new improvements include:

• Eliminating stretches of four games in five days and 18 games in 30 days.

• Reduction of five games in seven nights to just 40 instances across (1.3 per team), down from last year when it was on the schedule 90 times (three per team).

• Reduction in number of back-to-backs to 14.9 per team, down from 16.3 per team. In all, 40 back-to-backs have been eliminated from last season.

• Reduction of single-game road trips by 17 percent.

• Reduction in single-game road trips over 2,000 miles by 67 percent; there are only 11 of them on schedule.

• Increase in weekend games from 549 to 568, much of the boost coming on Saturdays. Previously the NBA avoided Saturdays and Sunday afternoons during football season to dodge conflicts.

Teams that have seen versions of their schedules can petition the league for changes.

I like this. No more 4 games in 5 nights, and 18 game months in the schedule! Pretty happy about those two bits in particular.

Are we officially at the point where I can stop pushing Woj's tweets to my phone? Thinking so.

Wow, looks like Cleveland is about to fleece Boston. This is actually great for us, as it should weaken one of the teams ahead of us while improving one that we weren't beating anyways.

Boston is giving up a lot, but I think they are going to be an awfully strong team. i give them the edge on the Cavs.

yup, I love this- I think it actually weakens both teams next season.

Boston will be worse- they're now down two premier wing defenders (Bradley and Crowder both gone) and traded away their best future asset to make the lateral swap of Kyrie and IT. Kyrie doesn't play team ball and that is going to hurt the rest of the Celtics, who aren't used to a player with such a large tendency to iso.

The Cavs 2nd and 3rd best players are now EVEN WORSE defensively, and that's where their issues are. Crowder should help some, but IT might be one of the biggest defensive liabilities in the entire league. Tyronn Lue doesn't have the coaching ability to mask that the way Stevens did.

I hate it past this year though. We all know how the draft lottery works when Cleveland has a high pick. They're either going to draft a young superstar or trade it for yet another one.

Nah they got a lot to prove. This will be a whole new team with a completely different makeup and chemistry. IT, Bradley, Crowder and Olynyk are all gone. Do you trust Kyrie Irving to lead a team? Horford? Morris? Hayward and those youngsters better step up.

I think if Lebron comes back and plays like bron and if they sign wade who I heard they might I think the cavs wil be better than witho kyrie. They add rose who plays like a poor mans version of kyrie now and to add wade and isaih. Now they have their point guard when bron is out of the game

Boston is definitely weakened in the short-term. Their bench was questionable before, now it consists of Baynes plus a bunch of 1st and 2nd year players.

If we can make another move to improve the roster the 2 seed is a realistic goal for this team.

Edit: I also suspect the Cavs will make another smaller move to improve roster fit.

I love this for Cleveland, good 3 for 1 swap. Irving wasn't a great defender anyhow, Thomas could fill a great deal of his role. Crowder is a great glue man to defend, shoot 3s, rebound, can take some of the heavy lifting off lebron defensively. Zizic will be a big body to bring off the bench. I think Cleveland are better now and the draft pick is just gravy

Boston reminds me a bit of what Charlotte was trying to do with Hayward.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
