3 mil per year is too rich to keep a young, deadeye shooting guard? Come on Cho.
BOOOOOO!!!!

OK, I've had a second to calm down. I really like Troy, so I'm annoyed he's leaving, but I can see the though process from Cho's point of view. Daniels is highly unlikely to become anything more than a 3rd string SG in the near future. He just doesnt have the size or the versatility to do much more. He's a great utility player to have at your disposal, but not one we'd be counting on to play heavy minutes or even be part of the rotation.
3 million isn't much, but I fear that next summer will will be searching for every single extra dollar we can find to resign Cody and/or add a real impact free agent to add to our core.
Of course, a player like Daniels could always be traded for cap space later, its not the end of the world.
Just feels like we haven't had much of a plan this summer other than status quo and punt for next year. That's not the worst plan in the world, but it doesn't exactly give us a ton of confidence that Cho can pull of much more next year either.

Was there some kind of power play that went down recently where Cho lost control of GM'ing duties? This is another move that seems very anti-Cho. It almost feels like we are trying to get worse...

We have to receive something other than that, but it's likely just cash. Though it could legitimately be the rights to Andrew Harrison.
It was probably either pay him $3M, lose him for nothing, or at least salvage a trade exception. So I kinda get it.

We already have a TPE. BOB, when does that expire?

I felt he should have been a regular part of the rotation this year. His shooting is uncanny, and the Hornets take more threes than just about anyone. Plus, he had been working hard on defense last year, though the results still left a lot to be desired.
The success of this team now depends even more on Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

I think this means we want to hold onto Aaron Harrison. I think it's also more proof that we're locked in for the 2017 offseason. I wonder who we're targeting?

Zero space for him on the roster after the Belly trade. He'd be the 5th or 6th guard (behind Lamb) on the roster. That's a min contract kind of guy. So while I would've liked to have him back, it make sense to let him go. At least there was a return

I cant help but think it maybe would have been a better use of resources to just keep Daniels for 3 mil instead of giving up our 1st round pick to pay Belinelli twice as much. I feel like Im taking crazy pills. Am I the only one who feels like our front office has lost their minds?

No, you're not. Belinelli shot just 30.6% from three last year. Daniels shot 48.4%. That is not a typo.
